He used to make decent anime analysis video essays. Digi definitely had a impressive knowledge and passion for anime, and I personally got into the medium because of his videos. He was entertaining and informative imo.

He peaked at around 2016, then it just fell down from there. I personally boycotted him when he defended lolis. May was a huge catalyst to his downfall. She is 100% a manipulative psychopathic bitch that pushed him to troon out.

My prediction is May will push him further and further to transition, and then leave him. The realisation that Digi destroyed his life will push him to join the 41%.

It will be a sad day, but nobody can say that we didn't try to help Digi.

I think the thing that appealed to me the most back then was the genuinity he'd display in a lot of his videos. There'd be plenty of times where he'd relate what he was talking about to his own personal experiences, and there was a level of emotional rawness and sincerity there that wasn't present in most of the other Youtube channels I'd watched up to that point. "Aesthetic IS Narrative" and "a tale of memories" are both good examples of that, as was the After Dark channel before it got flooded with rants. On a website full of people so willing to cater to the lowest common denominator, seeing someone actually try to connect with the audience to that level was really intriguing. Even as someone who enjoyed his analytical content, he probably wouldn't have appealed to me as much had it not been for that. Plus, he helped get me into other channels like Endless Jess, who still makes a lot of great videos for many of the same reasons.

Keep in mind that it was mainly his older videos that I liked, and 2019 was when I felt the quality of his channel was starting to go down. Obviously a lot of people aren't gonna be into that shit, and I thought he said plenty of dumb shit even back then, but that's the reason he appealed to me personally. I'll still watch his older videos, but it's sad he'll probably never be as good as he used to.

there was some controversy about it a few years back, but I can't remember exactly who or how many were implicated on this. I'm not paying attention to what degeneracy japanese pedos are involved in.

I'm sure it's true in some cases, but most anime-style art is so highly stylized that even if real CP was being used as reference the final product would be mostly unrecognizable from the source. Tracing would end up with realistic unstylized proportions.

Not very good? Youtubers tend to be one trick ponies, and trying to transition into another type of content doesn't work very well. It's an uphill battle and youtubers, for the most part, have a limited shelf life.

Guy seems genuine, but he's a massive hypocrite. He strikes people who don't know him very well as genuine because he goes against the grain, and insincerity is a dime a dozen in any entertainment medium.

As for his videos being quality, I think that's something that's lost on people. Maybe it's because I seldom watch any Youtube anime content nowadays, but every time I see a video, it's someone rambling on a subject for a while, or reading way, way too much into things. Maybe it's because I can chat up people who work in the industry at events, and unlike Digibro and co, they have actual experience and can say something insightful about the medium instead of talking about what they saw in Shirobako.
