I'm not sure randomly-generated students would be a good idea considering the desires of the fanbase. A large appeal of yandere simulator is its sandbox nature, and regarding publicity, youtubers making videos about different clubs and game mechanics. Granted, the games diversity is superficial and not very well thought-out, but it existing in the first place is something that keeps people around. Imagining yandere simulator as a hitman game or watchdogs with NPCs that have no background whatsoever doesn't seem like it would be fun, especially considering that the having rivals as they exist now would require the player to spend multiple weeks within the school, interacting with the same environment and the same characters.
Random generation could work for some students, but I don't see it as something that would be good for most of the game except for the few characters that act as filler (Which shouldn't exist in the first place considering that this game should have a social aspect with the player learning the social dynamics and networking of the world and using this to his/her advantage).
Considering his fanbase, not only do I think that randomly generated students wouldn't be a bad thing (or at least, hardcode important NPCs like club leaders and randomize the mooks), I think that having a very easily accessible "Design your Schoolmates" feature would be quite popular among his supporters. At any point in the game, the overwhelming majority of the students really don't matter as they are merely there to act as semi-mobile cameras to catch you being naughty, and I'd bet that fans would love to have a simple and easy way to create their own characters to throw into the game world without needing to dig through Unity files to replace existing students. The problem with randomizing/creating your own student is mostly due to Alex's design philosophy; this is very difficult to implement as everything the students do has been predetermined beforehand, and a total rewrite of the system used would be very time consuming.

Part of it is also that the social aspect of the game is so severely lacking. In other games with random NPCs and a bare-bones social aspect, the random NPCs often serve some purpose that allow you to grind stats or fulfill some goal in the game world. In YanSim, they mostly just boost your reputation a little bit, which you really only worry about when someone has seen you doing something bad and you're far more likely to either reload a save or stick a knife in that student's back than walk around the entire student body praising people to offset your daily "She's definitely a murderer guys!" penalty.

How much did he pay this time to get the subreddit back?
Bonus if he paid reddit admins instead of whoever was running it this entire time.
He most likely just contacted Reddit staff and they've had clear evidence that the subreddit was hacked so they handed over the privileges to him without any monetary transactions.

Lol whatever you even talking about? randomly-generated students is the way to go if you don't wanna spend time tweaking every NPC, just need to use one or two models and create a script so that Unity can change their textures, do you even play Watchdogs? or Hitman?

In Hitman the NPC have a background everysingle one and with NPC i mean the target you need to kill, and there's even a story. What the people want is a "cast" of characters, but Alex is way to retarded to think about it, that's why he stuck in the sandbox thing with a shitty plot of "muh blood dinasty" in order to have "social aspect/simulation" is to have FUCKING CAST of character so the player can INTERACT to, why is that so hard to understand?

Yandere Simulator doesn't have a story, there's no reason of why Yandere-chan have a deeply and twisted crush on Senpai, she never talked to him, you never interact with him, you don't see him doing something he is just there. While the game TRIES to make you think of "omg she has such a crush, she is to shy" But then again that totally defeats the reason of her being a yandere, you spend time grinding your stats instead of interacting and see how things are in the school, the only "NPC" that interacts with you is Info-chan, and Info-chan just come a la Hitman style of briefing tells you what you need to do and then bye. From the get go the whole thing is fundamentally flawed.

Gee, I wonder just why?

It's kinda saddening that I saw Alexyboi as a gamedev inspiration at some point in time. If only had I known what the future holds.
Then again this whole saga has proven to be more entertaining than him actually just fucking finishing the game. Missing the deadline for Osana for only-god-knows how many timeth a row, all these meltdowns, all this drama, all these juicy spergouts...

Godspeed you magnificent specimen, godspeed...

A snip from today when asked about potentially stretching development to milk Patreon bucks:
Alex response to stretching out Development.PNG

He's not being entirely untruthful; the attention and adoration of being a "successful" game developer is what he craves. The money is just a happy coincidence.

The claim of caring about quality is obviously extremely questionable unless you've recently experienced a concussion.

Why would you do this.

I'm genuinely curious as to why Dr. Apeis is so vague on his past. His reddit bio says he is a:
Programmer who studied professionally in college for an extensive time.
And considering he says here he wants to keep his past a mystery, I'm just curious as to whether or not he even finished college, since the wording is completely open to interpretation and the kid is 18 IIRC, and that seems young for someone who's in/completed college. I wouldn't be surprised if the kid is either in college currently, or dropped out.

Idk how things are in the US but if he is 18 that means he is a freshman? I think is really weird.

Yandere Simulator doesn't have a story, the-
Correction, it does have a story, but its doesn't really make a lot of sense:
  • Flashback to WWII. Japan gets assraped by the US with nukes
  • Butthurt Japanese dude decides he wants to get revenge for his fallen brothers
  • Creates company (Saikou) with the intention of spreading Japan everywhere, for everyone
  • Actually manages to succeed, becoming most wealthy company in the world
  • About ready to continue with his plans, but sees that weeaboos did his job for him and Japan is being spread already
  • Gives up, decides not to go through with plan, and grows old
  • Gives company to his son, since his daughter noped the fuck out and caused butthurt
  • Around this time, Saikou family opens the school as a "CEO training ground" for their children
  • A bit later in the story, in the 1980s, Yandere-chans mom goes to school and massacres other children
  • Headmaster goes into depression, becomes fat, and the school loses its reputation
  • Later in story, main character joins the school and meets Taro, falls in love
  • Headmaster knows who she is and knows she is dangerous, yet let's her stay in the school because...
  • Headmaster has a deal with the Saikou CEO to allow her to stay inside for some reason
  • Both Headmaster and the CEO know what yandere-chan is doing, don't give a fuck anyways
  • Last rival Megumi, CEOs daughter, ALSO knows about yandere-chan, but doesn't do anything about it
  • None of them give a fuck except for Megumi, and that is only if you kill one of her student council slaves
  • Also should mention that Megumi is described as a "140 IQ certified genius master fighter" that has successfully blackmailed anyone that tried to fuck with her.
  • Hinted throughout game that Yandere-chans mom somehow knows the CEO, but its kept vague as fuck for no actual reason.
  • Taro, the main love interest, is also somehow a part of this.
Hope you enjoyed my autistic summary.
Is the school a hologram? Are the students crisis actors? Can jet fuel really melt steel beams? All this and more will be answered... LATER!

If you think that is somewhat a story, you're right you are autistic...

Haha what a story, Alex!

Know what would be funny in a nonsensical sort of way? If the goal was to repeat one day of school Groundhog Day-style until you figure out how to rig things so every rival gets mysteriously killed on the same day and you walk away with your hands clean.
You could "level up" the same way Bill Murray did, by cutting school and learning stuff. Maybe you'd have to do a bunch of "side quests" where you spend your day befriending a side character just to learn some key piece of information.

You could replace the entire story with "Japanese academy opens in Detroit" and you'd end up with functionally the same gameplay excuses of dismissive attitude to murders. This is all just bad fanfiction he's written.

I think that this could really work if you did it in a comedic tongue-in-cheek sort of way. Have everybody fall in love with Senpai for no reason other than that he sits in the main character seat (you know, back of the room beside the mirror on the left). Really play up the fact that Ayano is too shy to talk to Senpai yet bold enough to kill a bunch of people. In fact, even end the game with Ayano going on her first date with Senpai only to realize that she's not really that into him. This game has real comedic potential.

In the year 1797...
Deep within the early United States, colonialists progress into the unknown expanses of the west...
148 years later...
WWII is brutally ceased with the United States dropping nuclear bombs on Imperial Japan... And then Saikou is born.
I'm honestly curious what "Lore" Alex could possibly have that takes place in fucking 1797.

One thing that's consistent with Alex is the long paragraphs carefully breaking down his points while talking down to you like you're a child. Seems fitting actually, considering his audience.

But I thought he put it all into a pot and gives himself minimum wage by choice?
It's at give-or-take 2k right now which I assume is roughly the monthly mimum wage where he is, and I assume he still has plenty of money to burn saved up in the pot so he should be fine for his own wages for a while because he earned a lot of money through his Patreon. Seems to be alright for dosh since he can afford luxuries like a second Switch.

Has he been complaining about earning less than minimum wage recently?
If he has, that might be where that ~$200 cash injection into his Patreon came from.
