Yeah that basically. So I can keep my existing files on the HDDs I have now and not have to dick with a lot.

Yep this is what I do. I've gone through so many distros, including Arch a number of times, makes life so much easier when shit gets stuffed up...

Oh forgot, I use MX, it's seriously the easiest distro I've ever used. As much as I love 'playing', I have too much going on in my head to need to 'fix' shit every few days...
