I'm wondering what made Ethan break? He was doing ok-ish at avoiding drama or feeding trolls but he's just broke now and refuses to create more dry spells, i guess he knew hed have to keep it up forever and the idea of taking it and not being able to shout down or threaten critics to feel big ever again was just a smaller trade off to him than losing success or being messed with.

Judging by how often he mentioned Nora in this Patreon exclusive, even going so far as to reveal one of the reasons behind the divorce - being her association with him/his show having a negative affect on her future prospects - I'm willing to bet it was said divorce. Obviously there are a host of other reasons that have acted as a sort of death by a thousand cuts, but even with as petty as Ralph is, he realizes that he really fucked things up with Nora and that was it. It's just a downward spiral from here and we have a front row seat.

aw shit, so this is the point where he is so pissed and blaming everyone else for his fuck ups and choices that the little part of his brain that said "jim is right, feeding trolls is a losing battle. i dont see why though i could own those losers" has been swallowed by his pants shitting rage. Keep in mind that people like this--narcissists--usually give you the "best" reason for something to have happened to them so you think it's actually not as bad as it really is. When we say the cheating by Ralph on Nora and the alcoholism when he was saying he was sober are probably the biggest factors, it's not because we're making shit up out of thin air. It's literally shit he's been caught doing.

He seems to think that because he's trying to leave the mundanematt name behind that he's now in the club to turn the moniker on others and he's not.

Matt really needs to keep the jokes to a very self-aware "now wait a minute Ralph, Ralph NO! Ralph, no. You treated this like it was horrible when I did it" level for it to land, imo.

And also, the whole reason we're even talking about a Kraut redemption arc started with Kraut actually making a comeback of his own content before wading back into the drama. Matt's metrics are currently worse than ever.

I think Matt deserves to do as many victory laps as he wants.
Its funny to watch him mock ralph, it will be funny if he overplays this hand and falls on his face and the tables turn yet again.

Hopefully he just doesnt use this thing to death until its an exhausted husk. Take a lesson from DSP my man, One or two shots from the outside per story is hilarious, but you need to know when to stop and just watch the fireworks with everyone else.
