Despite ''Naomi'' claims of being an ultra femme lesbian who likes to make people uncomfortable because this way she will get more attention to her work, never in my life I've seen someone dressing like a prostitute and being taken seriously, especially in a field filled with (nerdy) men. Women on STEM always complain about how men will make jokes and think they are inferior to them, so I don't see how presenting herself this way would bring her any benefit. Sure, if she was a simply cam girl, it would be good for her image, but since she's a ''creator'', I don't see why bringing your lifestyle into your works can be a good thing.

Hm, I don't know about China laws, but where I come from, this is considered public indecency and you can even get arrested for dressing like that. I see she is in some sort of convention/gathering, so maybe the law doesn't apply there, but still, this is very uncomfortable looking and I can only think about how impractical it is to walk around with half your vulva hanging out your shorts.

Others have mentioned that the discussion turned to Naomi's connections with a certain company (I'm not being coy, I can't remember the name, so hopefully someone smarter can fill that in) and within what, days? Maybe even hours? She was suddenly here to defend her good name. So it could be that there's a specific combination of words in a google alert that sets Timaz off.

To add on to people who already pointed out things related to Wu's English skills, there is one more thing that does not make much sense:

Watching foreign TV shows and movies is one the easiest ways to improve listening comprehension. It's the go to method to do it besides actually talking with people. If English language TV shows were Wu's go-to method and the first thing she did, listening comprehension would most likely be her strongest suit.

There's a difference between listening and listening comprehension. TV and media improve your listening by exposing you to the languages sound structure- phonemes and phonological constructs- but do very little for your listening comprehension after the first few listens. Comprehension is only improved when your brain is exposed to 'random' or unexpected language which is what happens in any day-to-day conversation.

Watching the same show over and over will help you, but not nearly as much as she's making it sound. It takes conversational (two-way) experience and skill to get comfortable speaking a foreign language with strangers.
