You're somewhat right about that. Apeis only talks to very senior people like Outset_Isle about what he's working on and such.
Source: My experience as an admin (I'm the same Bramblestar4427 from reddit who leaked the suicide baiting thing)
>joined today
>same pfp as NightWhisper, former LL mod who leaked shit
>literally admits he was the one who leaked the suicide baiting

You ain’t slick, faggot.

There's a reason why background checks exist. Interviewing the applicant and asking questions like "If you're idea got shot down by the userbase, how would you react?" gives a lot of insight to the character.

I had hopes that LL pulled itself together after its multiple fiascos of poor discord management and mods, but as the saying goes: "I can't believe it's gotten even worse!"

Oh boy. It's been... 2 years? Since I've last peeked at this thread. Took a while to catch up (and it took sifting through a ton of garbage, especially recently.) but it was worth it.

In something related to Alex, here's one of my favorite reddit answers from him as of recently.

"A mechanic that could improve my game as a stealth game? No see, here's a bunch of bullshit about it being a social stealth game, and therefore I don't need to improve one of the main mechanics of my game!"
I have to admit, the idea he describes sounds interesting, even if it's all still stealth. A shame that it would take careful planning, lots of meaningful experience, and a larger team of people to make a good and polished game like that. :optimistic:

Because that's all Alex is in the end. An idea guy, AKA the first, most immature stage of any creative person. He can talk about doing shit all he wants but what separates the wheat from the chaff when it comes to creative people is who actually gets off their ass and makes (and finishes!!) the shit they talk about. He's certainly not doing that. Languishing for over six years on a half-finished idea is even worse than not doing any of it in the first place.

I'm glad that so many people are finally giving him the cold shoulder. I remember it being 2016 and we were wondering when people would start to get sick of him. It only took... four years.

There's a proving grounds thread for the love letter shit, please post content related to it there instead of continuing to shit up this thread, (even more, somehow).

Agreed. I'd rather this thread remain dedicated to Alex's downfall only. I'm really not interested in his teenaged anti-orbiters all trying and failing to make games to stick it to him. It's happened so many times and its bringing a weird influx into this thread. Lurk moar, yall. <3

This is patently bullshit. When I think of a social stealth game I think of something along the lines of the early assassins' creed [pre - unity] blending into crowds was the only real way of reliably sneaking in those games and thus required you to blend in social environments order to do most of the stealth. Hitman has social stealth elements in the form of the disguise mechanic and you navigate large amounts of the mission using this tool but in most of the games there were large areas that traditional stealth had to be used

Is yandere sim mainly a social stealth game because as long as she isn't holding a knife, covered in blood or tweaked out (which is 90% of the time and the default state)? You can't, for example, join in a crowd sneakily stab a target and then blend into the students running away in terror and pretend to be an innocent bystander. When you have to sneak you cant do it socially. You have to sneak to get the test papers, to get the anesthetic, and to kill people. Not letting people see dead bodies or blood doesn't count because then Skyrim would count as a social stealth game. The only major element I can think of is wearing the painter's apron to disguise blood splatters on yourself as red paint. Fallout: New Vegas has more social stealth aspects.

TL;DR Yansim is a stealth game with some a few social stealth elements (less than hitman or even new vegas) not the other way around.

Jokes aside, the existence of that entire debunk page kills me. You'd think that having a massive bullet point list on your own website informing anybody who peeks at it that you and your entire game's ecosystem is a huge drama cesspool would be a bad PR move.

And it is.

It's pretty insane that he hasn't stepped back and gotten embarrassed at the sheer size and depth of that debunk list. I know I would be. Nothing like having a giant pink-red flag that says DON'T HIRE ME right on your website.

I get that Alex wants a FAQ of sorts so that he doesn't have to respond to the same emails over and over, but jeez, at least make the page not visible to the average passer-by, and link it directly to people who email and ask. EDIT: Disregard that, the debunk page isn't as easy to find as I thought it was going to be, unless I'm too blind to read eye-searing white-on-pink text well enough to find it.

WOW I thought it was probably a joke, he really is liking that technicality defense lately
"Technically, I didn't say I'd kill myself, just that someone would probably kill themselves if the development continues and it will be their fault"
"Technically, I didn't TELL him to take it down, I just copyright striked him"
What technicality is he gonna hide behind next?

Since you bastards keep playing around with the element inspector I had to check the debunk page myself and swore that there used to be a section there "debunking" the "re-create YanSim in two weeks" thing. May be remembering incorrectly, as that section definitely isn't there now. But I did check the Discord FAQ on a whim and noticed it was a bit different from when I remember last looking at it.

TL;DR - it's gotten shorter and saltier.

Alex is such a strange man.
Can anyone think of a SINGLE other Developer in the industry who goes out of their way to respond to every single criticism and every single troll like this?
Cliff Bleszinski? I feel like I remember hearing somewhere that he spent a while going off the deep end with aggressively responding to anybody who mentioned him in their tweets. Though he isn't anywhere near the wall-of-text keyboard warrior Alex has proven himself to be.

Plus, he's actually made games. wow

Especially the multiple pedophilia accusations. How in the name of God, does a grown adult thinks it a smart idea to plaster them up on his game website. The "YandereDev defends pedophiles! YandereDev believes that pedophilia is a sexual orientation!" debunk, he almost disproves it within his excuse and the "YandereDev wants to abolish the age of consent and replace it with a sex license!" one sounds like a 12-year-old explaining the complicated series of events that lead to his hamster eating his week late essay to his teacher.

Imagine being a fan that wanted to know about some banal drama and you scroll down to that. :story:
