[25 July 2020] Jonathon Yaniv "cat fished" - Caught meeting child at children's hospital who didn't exist

I know for a fact that Sick Kids hospital security is top notch. Because of Covid, doors are closed and check-in to enter required. No one but a sick kid and one accompanying parent or guardian can enter Sick Kids. No visitors or companions are allowed at any of the 4 hospitals on that corner.

He would have never been allowed to enter the hospital.
I agree. Aside from the obvious risks of child abduction and abuse, security measures are tight as a drum due to covid. There's still no visitors allowed in my tiny hick town hospital... they have someone sitting at the front door vetting anyone who walks in. Even in a non-children's hospital the pediatric wards are always locked down and covered by cameras; children's hospitals take that approach for the entire building. You can't just walk in off the street.

The fact Toronto is still partially closed and the security, especially in hospitals, is cranked to 100 due to the virus and Yaniv thought he had a chance of going through this ''meeting'' is hysterical. What he thought would happen once he arrived at the hospital doors? They would make an exception for him because he's ~trans? Yeah, that was exactly what he thought.
He's so desperate that he spent money on tickets for him AND his mom to go all the way to Toronto during a fucking pandemic to visit someone at a CHILDREN'S hospital. Let that sink in.

All of Hospital Row is locked down like Ft Knox.

They are still shitting their pants over COVID.
Who can blame them?

A fairly large hospital nearby is allowing visitors but you have to book the visit beforehand, one close relative/good friend only for an hour visit during official visiting "hours"- this being the recently relaxed version.

Visiting children is restricted to parent/guardian and limited to a maximum of one visitor per patient. A&E allows only the patient, unless accompanying a child.

Those preparing for surgery (after shielding for 14 days) and those receiving Covid-19 care not allowed any visitors whatsoever.

It goes without saying that social distancing and hygiene measures, including wearing a mask are in place. Which, imo, is reassuring.

Really? If you don't mind me asking, where are you? Can't believe they won't allow people to approach emergency services anymore.
You can go to the emerg but get vetted before being allowed to enter and register. If you have just one single symptom of covid you are escorted to be tested in the covid wing before you can deal with getting the stitches or whatever you went there for. And no mask, no treatment.

ETA: This is downtown Toronto at the largest healthcare network in the country.

I went to my regular appointment at the cancer hospital and when I checked in they sent two security nurses to escort me to the covid clinic. My CT had ground glass in both lungs so they decided I needed to be tested and treated as positive until I tested negative. My test results came in less than 24 hours later, (negative), and I was able to access regular care again.

Cynically Insane,
Please believe, don't ever want to infect health care workers. It's so easy to wear a mask and wash hands. But some stupid fuckers won't take even the most basic of precautions. Darwin's law, I guess.

You really in Toronto? Seems like the infection rate might be going down around you. Still, ain't gonna try and cross the border just yet. I know when I'm not welcome.

Was just there. Some things are open. Patios and a few museums, etc. Toronto is a shithole at the best of times, so I didn't notice much difference
