It is gonna be hilarious when the Patreon drops again and he is unable to maintain his lifestyle then.
I don't think you understand. His parents bought the house in 2013 and either let him live there with them or fucked off to another house while taking care of all home-ownership costs for him.

I made an extremely lucky jump to page 1950, which pointed to page 1702 which had this:
View attachment 1473153
"Because I was living with my parents at the time"
If Alex isn't lying, then the speculation of others that his parents left him home alone to go live somewhere else might be true. Whatever his parents are doing, it must be something pretty big since apparently his house is currently worth about $1.5M.
He must really respect his mom and hold her intelligence in high regard if he thinks she wouldn't be able to tell a sex toy apart from a real human body.

I mean yeah it does seem stupid when you put it like that but I really didn't expect him to have millions of fans. More like 10K or something, I dunno. And he still has those fans, somehow. How can people eat up "Osana is almost ready", "no I'm not", "No, I didn't" and "teenagers should have a sex license" for 6 years lol.
Constant churning. His fans are 10-16. Every year, enough new 10 year olds become interested to make up for the 16 year olds he loses.

I still don't get where they're finding out about this game from, though. It can't (or at least shouldn't) be the hentai crossovers and I think Jay is the only big youtuber who still plays this game, although he's been backing away from it for a while now.

In other news, I've lost access to reading YS Discord channels, despite having joined after the "no new people" rule. About yesterday I was still able to read. I don't know if they are manually reviewing people or they are just revoking access to anyone that's new. But, guess it's another step into it being a cult-like thing basically. No outsiders at all allowed now into the inner circlejerking.

Same, I kinda forgot about the Discord and just checked it. I'm still in but can't see the chats anymore.
Funny thing is, he got this "You have to wait a week before you can send messages" - Policy, so I didn't do nothing yet.

Now I know why.
Oh Alex, never heard of the Streisand-Effect? :story:

At this point I assume it's word of mouth from his fanbase, or being recommended one of his videos through the Youtube algorithm. Apparently he's bottle-necked his comments section on Youtube, and with keeping it squeaky clean of criticism nothing looks amiss at first glance.

Yes. Dozens of major multi-million subscriber youtubers have played his game before, and even have animations for it (In the case of Markiplier). Right now I counted 15 new yandere simulator videos just in today, so it is also popular among smaller channels as well (And then their subscribers go off looking for the game). The game might not be even 15% of the way to being finished, but the sandbox "Do whatever random shit you want Oh look at these cool easter eggs" nature of the game right now means Youtubers can pump out boatloads of videos about the game, which not only increases the pool of videos but keeps people hooked as well.

You probably just don't have permission. Chat's still around.

I don't think he has anywhere close to millions of fans. I'm guessing there's a fair amount of people who are subbed to him just to watch the drama, or there's a bunch of dead accounts. There's also probably people who have a passing interest and stay subbed waiting for an important announcement that will probably never come. Alex was lucky enough to manage a fair amount of hype, but I think he really cycles through fans and doesn't retain them. He still has a pretty sizable cult following, especially with how little he produces, but his YouTube numbers are definitely not a good indication of the number of active fans he currently has.

Before the server got locked up, you could get around the whole 'wait a whole week' policy by reacting to any message. Pretty sure it's only a bot that's preventing you from messaging there considering the exploit spaghetti.
but right now, the chats are invisible from the public and he closed the server from new people so there's no way to do that anymore.

Speaking of which, did anything ever come out of one of the mods banning an actual discord staff member? I don't remember seeing it anywhere in this thread.
