South China Sea and Chinese Military Developments - While everyone is distracted by the pandemic, China's aggression in the SCS grows.

I suspect chinese exercises that end on the 28th will switch from invasion simulation to real war. Keep an eye on dongshu and kinmen islands. The taiwan ministry of defense is on red alert because they believe the same thing.

We are obviously about to recognize taiwan as an independent country which is a redline for china and India is on it aswell.

None of this would of happened had their stupid virus not happened. Fuck them

Its blatantly obvouis and Russia is in on it also with snap exercises ending on the 28th. They have 100,000 men on the ukrainian border practicing an invasion and this is way to much of a coincidence to dismiss.

Not sure which one happens first but The table has been set for some happenings 4 days from now.

Its completely possible we will be at war with an China-north korea-Russia-pakistan-Syria-Iran alliance next week

Or maybe China will just shit itself and do nothing just like it always does.

Reminder that if you have any friends and/or family members in China- make sure they have an exit plan in case things keep on going south.

People try to reassure themselves that it won't happen ... and then suddenly it will and it'll be too late.

Hard to know if it's another strategy from China but this one raise some eyebrows. https://www.thenewstribune.com/news/nation-world/national/article244479272.html

This has been happening in the UK too, same MO - classifed as ear studs to get around customs.

Hundreds of Brit gardeners 'warned not to plant mystery seeds sent from China'

Yeah, don't plant that shit LOL.

Day of the fucking chiffids.

Fucking chiggers (we need a new derogatory name for the Chinese. Chinks just isn't cutting it anymore).

China is rapidly putting up posters about what to do in an airstrike this last hour in all cities. Posters being reported everywhere

Are they gonna fucking do it. Are They are going to fuckin invade taiwan?
Probably not. It could happen but that does not seem likely.

What they are likely doing is starting a new dialog within the public discourse. Considering what is happening with the unprecedented rainfall in China they will want to distract the public from the many smaller dams they have demolished and the rural villages they have doomed to inundation in order to save the Three Gorges Dam. The information in the post I just made in the TGD topic does not look entirely optimistic either. This coming week is going to bring a lot more rain to the areas effected by massive flooding already. And with the extreme measures already taken by the CCP, I am unsure what else they can do to help stop the literal rising tide.

A distraction is necessary. But outright combat seems foolhardy. If the worst comes to pass in the Chinese interior, those military forces will be needed at home and not bogged down in a Taiwanese quagmire, to borrow a turn of phrase.

Not sure why you think 3gd matters to the CCP

If it goes...CCP is going to need a patriotic distraction just to survive
It matters immensely.

The dam is still standing against the tide which makes it a massive point of national pride and a battle for the nation. Success is vital and failure will be catastrophic on many levels, both domestic and international. It absolutely matters. The demoralization of the public (and the military) will be incalculable should the dam fail. The dam also represents Chinese ingenuity and is the biggest, most impressive structure in its class. With the flooding we are currently seeing, the project has taken a massive PR hit that has completely undermined the stated purpose of the structure itself; that said, maintaining it in this hard time represents the CCP's ability to literally weather the storm. The way they handle this being watched closely by all that are aware of it. You can't hide the flooded farmlands and cities from the Chinese public. They know what is happening and expect a definitive response from their government.

Military adventurism is useless if the CCP cannot guarantee domestic safety. Mother nature is far more fearsome than any military force, even the Taiwanese's American protectors. Chinese history has shown this to be an absolute truth and the ruling class would be wise to respect that history. The Chinese nation is under siege on many fronts; there is COVID, faltering meat supplies (made worse by the flooding of farmland in the rice basket of the nation), aggressive diplomacy that has not had the desired effect, and preexisting hostile trade negotiations among other issues. China needs a victory and Taiwan is not going to be that victory.

Regarding the seeds, I have a few guesses.

1. Invasive species sabotage. Not sure how commonly known this is, but when old world plants get introduced into an environment with new world plants, the old world plants will absolutely massacre and take over any competition. The grass you have on your front lawn in the US? That's an invasive species from Europe.

Dont underestimate how one domino can topple an entire ecosystem and food chain. The great lakes have had some serious issues with asian carp, which coincidentally was a gift from the Chinese government. Spilling seeds on the ground is enough for something to grow.

2. They contain genetically modified plants, with some sort of factor which will induce harm. Could be sickness, could be a long term thing. My area is not in toxicology.

3. These are just seeds, but the intended effect will be psychological. A cue for the world to go even further into chaos, now questioning every little package from China, the world's foremost exporter.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say here.

Regardless, even throwing the seeds out is a bad idea. They need to be destroyed. Life finds a way, as it were. Your packet of seeds could sprout in a garbage dump and pollinate nearby plants. And of course contact your local department of agriculture.

Im just saying i got them and tossed them

You think there is a sinister reason behind the seeds? They looked normal to me.

I couldn't say. But at the moment China doesn't exactly have any leeway with me in terms of trustworthiness. They've been an exceptionally bad neighbor over the last 18 months despite their normal belligerence. As for the seeds themselves, I kind of suspect you wouldn't be able to see anything strange about them without a microscope and testing equipment.

Which is the entire point.

If it was some kind of invasive species ploy, they would want grandma to plant these cute seeds she got in the mail.

So, I've been seeing people theorizing that Russia comes to the aid of China in a theoretical war, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. China isn't just a shitty neighbor in South East Asia, they've been on Russia's shit-list ever since Stalin croaked. That's not even mentioning recent galaxy brain moves by China, like declaring Vladivostok Chinese soil. Is it just boomers who never got the message that the Cold War is over and think the Second-World is still some United Bloc?
