I'm not an anime fan, but I'd play this to spite Alex for all the dumb shit he's done. Shitty code and six years of waiting, only for an alternative to have better code and be done in two to three weeks is just, holy fuck. Even when people hand this man better coding methods on a silver god damn platter he doesn't take their advice. The Yandere Simulator you saw in the video is the product of one of his mods. I did some digging and found it after looking through post history. I'm not going to name them because I don't want redditards to go raid their discord and fuck up any future opportunities, but they've basically made a version of yandere simulator that "Has a focus on lore rather than killing".

Funnily enough, this "fan project" looks far more complete than the actual game and has actual shadows that don't look like complete ass.

Its pretty amazing when a fan project made by one of your OWN MODS is more of a game than the actual "game" its basing itself off of. This is what Yandere Simulator should've looked like, but instead Alex decided to create a boring cube-world school without any additional details like real trees outside of the boundaries.
I'm going to compare another Indie Dev for a second that I know of who's also works alone like YandreDev. Nelson Sexton, a guy who made a blocky zombie game in Unity, he's now working on a second game in Unreal Engine which is better optimized, can handle more player made objects, has raytracing support, and it also looks much better than the original. In six god damn years YandreDev hasn't even finished HIS FIRST FUCKING GAME AND FLAGSHIP PROJECT. Unlike YandreDev, Nelson actually bettered his coding skills, finished his game, and he's working with two completely different game engines. Say what you want about the game's shitty community, but Nelson is still a way better developer than YandreDev will ever be.
