I have a thin shred of sympathy for Foster, because he doesn't appear to have actually done anything except brandish his weapon, but in Texas, that's grounds to get your ass shot. As far as his quad-amputee sheboon wife goes, if she meant as much as their families claim she did, why in the fuck did he bring her to a protest where open carry was going to happen? And as far as "she was knocked from her wheelchair!" is concerned, that happened because someone opened fire, and the crowd all charged away, like spooked cattle.

Far as I'm concerned, whoever fired the first 5 rounds we clearly hear in the video, that's the person responsible for Foster's death, and whatever harm befell his wife, as a result of the stampede.

TLDR - Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, Mr Foster has won this round.

It seems a bit early for it to be really effective, let alone mandatory.

I won't get it, even if it becomes mandatory. I had a pretty bad reaction to the H1N1 flu vaccine. I suspected it was a reaction, but my doctor had never seen any kind of reaction like that and instead suspected I had cancer. After many stressful months of testing, cancer was ruled out and the consensus was that I really did have a reaction to the vaccine. I think it also messed up my immune system since every year I seem to pick up a new allergy. I made it several decades in my life without any allergies and now I'm allergic to all kinds of things. Never again. I haven't had a flu shot since then and, ironically, I also haven't had the flu since I stopped taking flu shots. I guess because I avoid large crowds and am very diligent with hygiene because I know I'm at a greater risk without a vaccine. There's no way in hell I will agree to take another new vaccine that hasn't been adequately tested.

I do think there is something rather nefarious with the push for a vaccine when even they are claiming that you can be "re-infected" with covid so herd immunity isn't possible. That's the whole point of vaccines -- herd immunity. And how are they going to magically make your body develop immunity to covid19 when they are saying it is possible to re-infected only a couple months after having it in the first place? Nothing about the science so far even suggests that a vaccine would be effective. Either it is a money making scheme or they are hoping to put something in that vaccine that they know we'd object to if we weren't driven by fear of the WuFlu killing us and the economy.

And yes, white people screwed up in 1619. We've already admitted that, though. They act like every white person thinks slavery was no big deal. It was horrible, but it's not my cross to bear. If we can inherit the sins of the father, then every black person who has a family member who raped, robbed, murdered, etc. will have to bear the guilt of those crimes, too. Maybe they should also have to pay reparations to the victims (or their descendants) if proper restorative justice wasn't achieved.

Or, we could just learn from the past and try to forge a new future where we unite as Americans.

Well you can make a vaccine in a week. What takes the time is the safety testing. I’m very pro vaccine but I won’t be taking this one until there’s far more safety data on it. Vaccines are great, but they have to undergo rigorous and large scale safety testing or you can end up with debacles like Pandemrix.
They should never be mandatory for society at large. Mandatory should be for things like ‘if you want to work on human tissue in my lab you get a Hep B jab or you sign these five hundred waivers and take your chances.’

I've been seeing a lot of the same misinformation, willful & otherwise, about the difference between having a rifle "shouldered", and "slung/carried".

When he lifted that AK and aimed at the car, he went beyond any protection the law could provide; especially if he didn't have a carry permit to open carry that rifle (which Texas still requires, IIRC).

Also, props to the driver and ammunition for being able to zap his target through the glass. I'm curious to know what he had loaded.

Nah, man. Anyone who poses a serious enough threat to justify a no-knock also justifies "higher" levels of Law Enforcement involvement. If a no-knock is necessary, even if everything up to that point has been handled by local PD, request the attendance of a State/Federal tac group to kick the door. The threshold for a no-knock warrant is already pretty high, so I don't think more "scrutiny" is necessary. State and Fed bois kick doors less frequently, meaning they practice more, which to me seems like they're less likely to mess something up during the breach vs. local tac who kick doors regularly and become complacent.

Again, the issue is time, logistics, and resources, you can't always have SWAT or the Feds there at an instant often it can take too long (SWAT can take hours depending on how the department is organized some times SWAT may be its own primary unit, often its a secondary unit so you need to wait while SWAT gathers to gear up and get briefed) Feds could be hours away due to location from the nearest Fed office or even need to travel by plane to get to you. Some times you don't have the time to wait, time is a luxury, by wasting time you risk the chance of the accussed acting again, setting up defensives, etc.

And you’ll notice that they only ever talk about antibodies, when the picture that’s emerging is more complex. Some people seem to develop an antibody response and the length they’re detectable varies. But a huge number of people are gaining immunity through a T cell mediated response. PLUS a load of people seem to have some degree of existing immunity already, again possibly via T cells. T cells to SARS 1.0 are still there 17 years on.
There’s obviously a huge push to drive this narrative that you can be reinfected. As far as I know nobody has been a confirmed reinfection yet.

It's entirely possible that it'll go to trial, but any jury would acquit on grounds of self-defense. If you're being surrounded and someone is approaching your vehicle carrying or pointing a gun at you, any reasonable person would take that as imminent danger of death.

A jury isn't "12 people too stupid to get out of jury duty". It is, as Massad Ayoob put it, "a 12-headed hydra with over a century of life experience and 12 independently operating bullshit detectors."
