I'm going to step in and defend Digi here for a moment. AssWar was popular. You're missing the whole point; those kinds of low-effort garbage shows are watched by huge numbers of highly impressionable individuals, who go on to be influenced by the tropes and writing styles displayed within the works they consume. 'Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery', etc etc.
As somebody who does/used to do a lot of creative writing, I know exactly how intense people can get over what is objectively garbage media that exists only to exploit their underdeveloped sense of taste. It is really quite painful trying to talk to people who've grown up watching shows like AssWar and SaO. They carry those lessons forward, and come to view the low-effort trope-based storytelling methods used by these shows as the 'real' way to do things. After all, they're popular, so they must be good!
This is no different than an addiction to fast food. It's not that it tastes better in any way than healthy food, it's just scientifically designed to get specific parts of your brain to go 'mmm yeah, this is good, I want more' without ever needing you to think about why. An exhaustively detailed analysis of why this is a bad thing is valuable, useful and productive, as it exposes the truth in a way that doesn't just come across as 'I'm a snob, my opinions are better than yours'. The AssWar series is Digi's best work. He's still a complete dumpster fire of an individual, but I'd quite happily recommend that particular set of videos to any aspiring creative writer.
