Broadswords were good enough for Abraham Lincoln when he had to fight a duel; they're good enough for everyone. Anything else that isn't a firearm is un-American and communist.

He could have done it with an axe, too, as he split rails for much of his youth with an axe. I wouldn't want to face Lincoln with an axe.

Even without the axe I wouldn't give him a go. Before he went into politics he was a famed wrestler and could apparently outgrapple any man he met. Plus his post-victory trash talk game was on point:

Abe 'Railsplitter' Lincoln said:
I’m the big buck of this lick. If any of you want to try it, come on and whet your horns.

I forget where we are in the case.
Does Meyer have to file something or is it up to the judge to make the process proceed forward?

Pretty sure the Scheduling Order applies at this point. So it's up to Waid to file some absolute bullshit to derail it at this point, not up to Meyer to do anything other than comply with the scheduling order.

I’ll just leave this here so everyone can absorb the irony.

Has Zaid ever worked for CNN or the Washington Post? Because Sandman's lawyer is already saying the jagoffs who work for them and who've been commenting on the case and offering this and similar opinions (this includes Brian Stetler, among others) need to be fired for breaching the settlement's confidentiality agreement.

He’s appeared on CNN. But I doubt he is considered an employee.

Zaid is an imbecile. And a Super Lawyer. But I repeat myself.

Brian Stelter retweeted...

Holy fuck.

So so far 2 out of 8 cases(six still ongoing) Sandman has gotten paid off.

Nothing there guys...

Oh it gets better. Sandman's Lawyers are in the process of bitch slapping Stelter and CNN. Stelter just violated the NDA terms of CNN's Settlement. So did an idiot columnist at the WaPo.

I just edited for that! I really hope Stelter gets fired.

If they don't repudiate the actions of their employee in some way, they ratify it and adopt it as their own.

Which one? I only saw Stelter's retweet with Sandmann's lawyer's response. And then a whole bunch of people saying that by pointing out the breach of confidentiality that the lawyer must have confirmed the speculation about the low payout, and him getting more and more terse as he blocked them for being stupid.
