No information available. Normally they at least give you a bullshit reason. Not this time. Just YOINK, GONE.

So we might be seeing an end to the WuFlu hoax, iiiiiif the GOP wants to take a stand and kill their party for the next 10 years over it.

Basically, the GOP is trying to dial back the $600 a week bonus checks for people on UI. And the DNC wants to make it permanent.

GOP considering dropping the $600 Unemployment benefit to 70% wage replacement. For states that can't afford it, they'll be given $200 a week instead.

The DNC and DSA, of course, are trying to backdoor UBI via the WuFlu, so obviously they're going to argue against this and promise more.

How the fuck can you be taking home nearly $3k in addition to whatever your UI already gives and still be in danger of missing out on rent?
Trump should dodge all this bullshit by just issuing an executive order mandating the 600$ per month payments continue along with a moratorium on evictions for the next six months. There's a time and a place for taking a stand for conservative economic principles, right now isn't it.

How do you guys feel about people justifying lockdowns saying that covid 19 kills people and spread more and that people are dying more from covid 19 than any other virus? My family and friends think this
If you want to stay inside, stay inside. If I want to go out and potentially get sick then that's on me. Literally my body my choice.

I feel that is a load of bullshit, since this virus has something like a 0.5 percent fatality rate when asymptomatic infections are taken into account. Furthermore, a combination of hydroxychloroquine, zinc tablets and some sort of antibiotic(for opportunistic bacterial infections when recovering)is an effective treatment for the sideways-vagina virus so long as you spot the infection early enough. Your family and friends sound like a bunch of easily intimidated cowards.

Point out that Florida had 150 COVID19 deaths on Friday last week in the morning

And by the end of the day after they audited the numbers they had 14 deaths.

CNN et all are terrorizing people for political points.

Someone mirrored the Doctors against COVID19 Misinfo Vid that's being censored on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Reddit, etc.

I am SHOCKED, SHOCKED that the numbers on this are inflated.

SHOCKED I tell you.

This tomfoolery is one reason why CDC's provisional excess mortality (pretty graph) counts keep yo-yoing up and down. Over the last week or two, it has bounced between 105% and 110%. The number of excess deaths attributable to Corona could be off by a factor of 2. It could be off by more than that.

Most expensive part is coastal CA from just north of San Francisco down to the border. Go inland a ways, housing is less expensive. Gas has gone up about sixty cents a gallon in the last couple of months.

To answer your question better, it's getting harder and harder for the state to work. Environmentalists have largely stopped any new reservoir construction, so the runoff from wet years can't be saved. Road system, especially in coastal CA, is way overloaded. Maintenance and new construction simply insufficient. Billions wasted on a high-speed rail system which I doubt will ever be completed. Mos public school systems not good - too much money spent on illegals. Taxes, fees, laws, other bullshit keep growing. CA is becoming a state divided between the rich and the poor. Middle class shrinking quickly. Many middle-class people leaving the state, such as my son and his family. They are moving to Texas this week. Housing too expensive in their area now. Job opportunities in many areas very limited. If I could leave, I'd go back to Texas, as well. Can't leave right now.

Not too different from the situation my family has been in. We've been trying to tread water by leasing houses for the last couple years and can't find anything decent within our price range to actually buy. Everything is massively overpriced and way, way overvalued. I've been trying to push my family back to the Midwest, because you can literally get 2.5 to 3x the square footage compared to a comparatively priced house in SoCal (and the Midwest houses are often 15+ years newer). The time has come to bail the fuck out of here, and when we do, we'll all be voting red in our next state.

Everything you said about the state is true. The middle class is evaporating fast thanks to Jerry Brown (why in the world did we elect him AGAIN?) and especially Newsom (he's just as power-hungry as everyone makes him out to be). The taxes are absolutely awful, and it's infuriating to see my taxpayer money go to illegals while my family gets practically nothing in return. The university system is a a shitshow, especially the UC system where you now need a 4.0+ GPA at MINIMUM to go to one of the good schools if you're an instate white kid. Your spot will likely to go a hispanic DREAMER or a foreign student from Asia - although the latter is probably screwed soon too, considering the state is trying to bring back affirmative action.

It's a losing battle here if you vote red, and every meme about the average Californian complaining about their state yet still electing Dems is true. Most people are firmly riding the Dem train here until it derails.

Trump, Jr. in trouble with Twitter over Corona video he tweeted out

Miami police acting like real assholes here. And they wonder why some people want to defund the police. Let's see what happens in court; I sure as hell would go.

This sounds rather illegal to me but a lot of the policies these idiot politicians have set in place already just blatantly fly in the face of the Constitution since apparently it doesn't matter when we're dealing with a virus that marginally around the same level of fatality as the yearly flu but this whole thing has seemingly driven everyone insane.

:stress:
I just want to go to work and the gym again. Am I really asking for that much?

I feel you. Work isn’t an issue due to the nature of my job (healthcare), but I would like to go back to the gym. Cuomo’s logic on keeping gyms closed is dumb. “We need special air filters! Otherwise, they will stay closed!” By that logic, stores and restaurants shouldn’t have opened.

I never understood how you could fuck up something as easy as high speed rail on such a massive scale...
Even Italy has a good system, and they are Italians.

where is all the money from the fees going? healthcare and schools for illegals cant be that expensive.
i have to pay alot of taxes, there are fees on everything but germany still works well enough to not flee the country(or even big cities)

I realy cant understand how the richest state in the US can work worse than communist Romania or Italy.

Michigan is offering the bar exam online this year. It is expected to be a disaster, as, among other things, the software can interpret any loud noise as a sign of cheating; the software can interpret looking away from the screen for any reason as cheating; poorer applicants tend to have worse internet, potentially leading to problems; and other reasons.

Speaking of lawyers, a judge has dismissed the University of Michigan's request to dismiss a lawsuit against it. Students are suing for a tuition refund after in-person classes were cancelled and online options were offered. The University claims that by offering online options they fulfilled their obligations. Students claim that they signed up for in-person teaching and are entitled to a refund since it was not provided.

MICHIGAN RECAP
Second wave of official cases is here; second wave of official deaths is not, even though we are STILL sending COVID patients to ordinary nursing homes, albeit to isolation units therein. Masks are now mandatory. People starting to snap. Lawsuits grind on ever so slowly. Petitions begin circulation.

California voted to more or less freeze property tax in the 70s with Proposition 13. In the decades since there's been several other California local tax laws. This is part of why California's schools have been notoriously terrible for several decades and ranked among the worst in the US alongside Mississippi and Alabama and has helped fuck up the state's finances. All the rich people really don't want to be taxed, after all, but gladly support all manner of other tax policies.

Of course, getting rid of Proposition 13 now would just mean the California legislature gets a nice raise along with various other state bureaucrats and local governments will be very lucky to get anything out of it.
