Don't let this detract, though, from what this is. It's NIMBYism. They want to increase segregation by finding a nice plot of land to build some projects on and throw all those BIPOC over there. Presumably where no-one could afford private security. Unless they're suggesting that the state seize private property which is not currently in use to throw the homeless into? That's a curious one.
Also - note they'll snip snip some funding if the cops were doing a lot of overtime this year and the next. Now why would they need to do overtime?
Lastly, worth pointing out - this is generally what the "defund"sters mean when they say it. Cut money from the police, push it into "community" programs which are supposed to take responsibilities from the cops. IE, this is going to be a very very good test run of seeing not only how this idea works in practice, but also how quickly these folks can whip up excuses for why it backfires.
in me hopes that this will be Wokeism's undoing. Normies have more in common with us than they do with the pseudoinellectual academics who push this crap.
