Thought I'd bring this Davoo video back, seems appropriate.

Davoo hit the nail on the head especially the beginning of the video and then from 10 to 16 minutes.

This was in 2018.
Also while watching the video I took a good look at the two points Davoo mentioned: the moment he stopped shitting out videos and the moment in his timeline his patreons withdrew. You can see his cleaner timeline gunk up with experimental videos at around those two points. More podcasts, more thoughpieces. Digi has this coming. He could have taken this Davoo warning as a time to reflect but he let it happen again and now it seems he threw in the towel.
In retrospect I think his worst decision was to close the After Dark channel and merge its content with the main channel. Not only was this a bad thing for his viewerbase but it effectively stopped him having to think about what was "marketable" and "unmarketable". He thought he was an untouchable cornerstone of the anime youtube community (and for a short time, he was a definite part of it) and people would follow him on personality alone. This is all fine and dandy if you don't damage your relationship with your audience.
And uhm, well, he uhm. Kinda did that.
First people dropped their financial support because he didn't make the content people wanted. Now people drop it because they don't want DIGI anymore. No matter who wears the mantle (or pants) of Digi.

Looks like the muscian-arc is over for a while and now back on the manga artist-arc again. In the meantime, May is doing his actual job and recording a 15 page script.

That's exactly one of Digi's contradictions right now. He expects his audience to stick around for his personality, yet he constantly talks down to us, as if it's our fault for not perfectly understanding him. We can't read his mind, and especially not with these recent events exemplifying how poor he is at communicating with his audience and sticking to plans.
However, I was previously a fan of Digi and a part of that was because of his personality. He was different from many other anitubers in how he wasn't afraid to speak his honest thoughts even if he was going against the popular opinion, which made his content often very original and insightful. But now he just acts pointlessly contrarian even on basic things seemingly to try and make himself look more intelligent, which just comes across as insufferable.
I thought it was already plainly obvious by May's channel only having around 4k subs, but none of us subscribed for her, nor are we invested in her at all. Making her the voice of the channel seems like a lazy way for Digi to fool people he's a woman and for her to not put in the effort to grow her own audience. In reality, no one wins in this situation.

Maybe they're having a swinger's party, May did make mention of fucking Ralph once the first time she went on the show and I'm sure Ralph would love to watch Faith get some of that phimosis tranny dick if the two bulls in Ralph's storyfire and him emphasising repeatedlt how they were doing things that wouldn't be filmed is any kind of hint!

Also the move to make May the new Digibro seems like a move to avoid the hatred towards "old Digibro". Why is Digi so intent on killing his old persona. Why does he seem to want to destroy every possible road that leads back to reality/sanity? Is this normal with trannies? I don't know enough lolcows to make a general statement but shit man, if people fall down this rabbit hole is the climb back out impossible or something?
I don't even want his anime videos anymore, I'm just in for the sheer lunacy of it all.

Still recommend reading the thread @Joe Swanson linked but to summarize.
He was an OG gamergater, had a struggling podcast that blew up due to IBS, Podcast focused on edgy humor and far right perspective, made friends with Josh, Metokur and Dick, let the fame get to his head and started drinking, had an intervention over podcast he ignored, all his friends left including gator, he claimed to sober up his friends came back, started relying heavily on guest to make his show entertaining, became one of dicks revolving cast of losers, met digi via that, now their friends even though in the past he had the sentiment that lolicons need a 10mm lobotomy.
Right now he seems to be spending a lot of time with digi and seems to be determined to get in as much debt as possible through drink and food. Though considering Ethans barely legal girlfriend and Digi's fascination with lolis they may have something in common.
Dudes destined to be used as some boomer politicians argument against anime. They'll mention his number of subscribers, his links to the far right, and his outward support of fucking fictional little girls as proof that anime is truly misogynistic rape fantasies.
