I recommend Pospicolo’s stream from yesterday, if anyone wants to hear stuff from “behind the scenes”. (HA!)
Since watching Popsicolo stream Animal Crossing for an hour and a half might be a bit much for any sane individual, I went ahead and transcribed the DSP details as best as I could.
It starts at about 35 minutes in.
Popsicolo repeats several times how he doesn’t have contempt for the man (But doesn’t sound like he means it, lol!) But doesn’t believe in him that much.
Wasn’t a single thing that made him leave, it was more of a culmination. He also doesn’t appreciate being associated with DSP.
“You offer DSP encouragement and advice, and then you don’t get anything out of it. You offer him reasonable complaints and then nothing happens.”
“Phil asks for help a lot, but then Phil doesn’t do as much as he could to seem deserving of that assistance.”
“DSP really lucked out with the vest (NO SHIT!) but that’s not real growth, it’s just taking advantage of the fact that people seem to love the vest for whatever reason.”
“Most of the people that get banned in DSPs chat aren’t really trolls.” Popsicolo could go to the chat right now and make constructive criticism and would probably get kicked out.
Popsi doubts how things will work out for Phil long term
“Most criticism falls on death ears.” Popsicolo wrote Phil a long goodbye message, telling him that what Phil does affects other people (such as mods) and to be more proactive to nip problems in the bud instead of letting them develop. Phil never responded.
This has happened before whenever he tries to give constructive criticism. Phil always responds whenever he sends him emotes though.
“Phil’s mental landscape is like an Eldritch place” Popsicolo tried to tell him that bans weren’t a way to solve anything, but he didn’t listen.
“Phil is 200% mad about WWE Champions”
What is being friends with Phil like? “You play co-op games with him and hear him do shoutouts, and if you give him advice he ignores it.”
Overall Popsicolo sounds like a pretty chill dude who fell in with DSP because of the community and the friends he made there. Not so much because of DSP.
He’s been wanting to leave for a while and is tired of Phil never making any effort to improve himself and his stream in the slightest.
