I don't get it, what are neo Nazis supposed to be? Cause they seem to be everywhere but never really do shit other than be linked to right wing causes, or hell, just causes that the left don't like.

This whole "wear masks, or you're committing murder" shit is all a leftist ploy. It's only them calling for it - it's control. All about control.
My cousin said something to me which I think was very... well... relative - Men should wear chastity cages to stop rapes. Why isn't THAT mandated? Because it's not a political chess piece.

No wonder these fucks are calling anti-mask people "Neo Nazis", it's all a part of their Orwellian fantasy.

I saw a piece, I think by the Atlantic, which said we need to work out new ways to communicate.
Like for instance, saying "I hear you said ____, but is ____ what you really mean?" like wtf? (It was some leftist insane "I hear your words, use your hand signals" bullshit, like the "USE YOUR WORDS" shit you saw Antifa saying to the police in Portland.)
Or making everyone wear name tags with their pronouns on it, everywhere, so people can "communicate" clearly.
They want masks to be the new normal, everyday, everywhere - literally forever. I'm not even kidding - even for swimming. It's fucking hilarious how nuts these people are. They don't want it to end when no new cases are recorded - they literally want it forever.

I had an argument with someone who thinks people who don't wear masks should be charged with homicide.
These people have gone insane. They negate to factor in that masks will suppress natural immunity against other things. Besides the fact they don't fucking work and cause more problems than they stop, but I digress.

When all of this started, I made a post about not getting your rights back. People argued that that was hyperbolic and it'd JUST be until the pandemic was over etc.
:story: You sweet, sweet summer children. I never want to hear you talk again.

It's close to the Mothers Against Drunk Driving and their bullshit campaign that means nobody in the US under 21 can drink. Or how right now MADD want interlocks on every car so anyone who wants to drive a car has to be treated like a guy with 5 DUIs. Or as I mentioned in another thread, the mandatory 55 MPH speed limit in the US in the 70s/80s. Each case is backed up by studies saying how the measures save thousands of lives a year, and how anyone who opposes it is a selfish monster who wants to let some drunk drive his truck at 90 MPH into a minivan full of kids.

They also like to bring up seatbelt and motorcycle helmet laws as another "common sense, endure some discomfort and save lives" law but all they've done is convince me seatbelt laws for anyone over 18 are bullshit. If I want to risk getting thrown out the window and have my car land on me, it's my right. Although I still wear a seatbelt out of habit, because I don't want to get ticketed, and because I don't actually want to take the risk of getting thrown out the window and having my car land on me. Live free and die.

It's all a numbers game to them, and just like with MADD and the national speed limit they just pick the studies they like and boast about the countless lives saved and anyone who opposes it is a baby/grandma murdering monster. And of course they ignore the studies which don't support the measures they want.

It is just until the pandemic is over. Problem is the pandemic doesn't end until they say it does.

I still don't understand that one. It's not like it was isolated to a few places or some sort of freak accident: every single western nation did the same thing, ostensibly for the same reasons.

Yep. Seemingly the reason being the panic to clear the hospials for the MILLIONS OF SEVERE COOF CASES that in most places, never transpired. Our UK panic-built hospitals had 11 patients, total. Millions wasted.

In Sweden they wouldn't give the COVID sufferers in nursing homes oxygen due to some law forbidding it being administsred by anyone other tthan a doctor. And they wouldn't transfer them to a hospital, so the staff got to watch old people who could maybe have made it choke and splutter to death. Staff who had to watch this were traumatized.

Same issue all over, from Scotland to USA, just with varying details. People discharged from hospital where they belonged with the coof into the nursing homes, causing clusters amongstt the most sick and vulnerable who were then denied transfer to hospital in most cases and died there. It's sickening incompetence. The fucking North Korean style clap-ins for the NHS which has actually been no more competent than anyone else during this mess, gave me rage hives. The pure sanctimony of it all, the pure fantasy.

It's like how people were saying all the anti-lockdown protesters in the USA were just wanting haircuts because there was that sign saying "I want a haircut". When the context was that their mayor (I think Lori Lightfoot) has broken quarantine to get a haircut and it was a jab at her.

I have noticed the left has a very...interesting...reaction to sarcasm and dynamic thinking. They either dont get sarcasm or they pretend not to build a case to get outrage.
Or its a mixture of both. And then they get offended once we call them NPCs when behaviors like this is the exact reason we call them back.

In Berlin of all places.

Once you actually mature, you see that WW2 was truly written by the winners. Tho this is as far as Im going or else Im going to get rated all sort of negative shit for it.

They either last a month or never die, and it's always the nice ones who die shortly after arriving.

They were too good for this sinful Earth....

Then again, those types of places are the definition of "place to dump you when you are too old to contribute to society". Its even worse when its done by your own family...you gave birth to the little shits and here they are ditching you in this infected pit to die alone...Just counting the days until the reaper decides to escort you out of there to somewhere better.

I don't get it, what are neo Nazis supposed to be? Cause they seem to be everywhere but never really do shit other than be linked to right wing causes, or hell, just causes that the left don't like.

At this point, it has become a hollow term. It has been used so much that it has no meaning outside of being the left's way of labeling you their enemy and try to get normies to side with them, since "who would side with them nazis?!".
Its just another of many boogeymen the left created to feed their agendas and convince others of dangers that arent really there.

"There are modern nazis!? Why we have to fight them! They are evil!"

It plays on the average joe's naive notions of good and evil and their desire to have significance in a good cause. They know everyone wants to be a hero so they create a villain so these people can convince themselves they are the heroes fighting the villains.

Nazis were written in history as the ultimate villains so what better villain tha a nazi?

Its a classic fallacy they take advantage of.

That if you are against it, you automatically wants bad things to happen. Its not the case that perhaps you consider these methods too strict that they might infringe on your personal freedoms and that of others, no, its because you are a straw man who doesnt want to keep people safe if it means a slightly discomfort.

They have been using it for decades and this corona shit garbage is no exception.

"Why you dont want to wear a mask? You want to infect others?! HOW DARE YOU?!"

The difference is that people are growing more rabid in their "faith" towards the "safety" measures from the highers up. I recall Dave Cullen saying that people with no belief in God start workshipping science and the goverment as their new Gods, even if unawarely. It has become a church at this point, the church of science as I call it. The problem is that science isnt as exact and definetive as one might think, new knowledge keeps changing it all the time and yet people refuse to adknowledge said changes. And let me remind you, these people are the same ones that mock believers for having a "limited" mindset. At this point, Science has become synonymous with attacking religion, as if you cant follow science without believing in God (ignoring, you know, the countless christian scientists from both the past and present who rather see science as learning more about this wonderful universe God brought into existance).
My theory over this is of commie infiltration at our institutions, communists workship man as the one "God", you shall serve the man in charge and there is no being higher than him. So future scientists are raised to use their knowledge to disrupt society's pillars, one of which being religion.

I suppose my point is that these people of masks are followers of the church of science, they put their faith on flawed men who may not have their best interests in mind. And yet they keep justifying themselves and their hatred on "non-believers".

Not sure if this has been mentioned already: France has made masks mandatory in public indoor spaces for a few weeks now. This measure has been more or less followed.

Anyway, now, a few cities ( Those who see tourists or French people in vacations ) in France have made masks mandatory outside, based on the amount of people infected per 100k. ( It also seems that the transmission of the virus outside is extremely unlikely. So the decision is fairly criticized. )

However, the measure is limited in scope for now and Corona-chan seems to be tamer in many regions, although the amount of infected slowly grows in others.

This was the background to Nietzsche's whole "God is dead" thing. And the replacement of "truth" with science, which we've come to realize really has no inherent truth (e.g. particles vs waves, the problem of preciseness, different quantities of infinity, set theory, though that's a little philosophical even for "I wuv science uwu" types), ends with the instillation of ultimate anxiety and meaninglessness in people.

Also science being the new religion of the state is not a new thing. It was even a major plot point in Asimov's Foundation trilogy. Though asking these people to read Asimov seems like a pointless endeavor. It's easier to read a reddit post applying two pages of Foucault's Discipline and Punish to critical theory of western animated kids shows than to actually read the source text, much less to acknowledge the ostranenie of science fiction and then consider what the fictional text reveals about our present society.

When the context was that their mayor (I think Lori Lightfoot) has broken quarantine to get a haircut and it was a jab at her.
I did not see that cross my news feed even once and now I'm irritated.
Because of masks people’s voices get muffled. Since masks are mandatory you won’t have to hear them talk again. You won’t be able to.
Not just that, but putting a mask on someone makes you see them as less human. It's why baddies in movies have their faces covered, too; so we don't feel bad when they get killed by the heroes.

We were talking about it before Trump even mentioned it. It was found not to be effective. Facts, not feelings.

It has questionable results. It's certainly not a game changer, but the media literally treated it like shit only because of Trump. It hasn't been "found" to not be effective, not sure why you're intimating that in the same way we'd say restoring the balance of humors to fight cancer is ineffective.

Instead of asking pro lockdown people why there safety is your responsibility instead ask them why hospitals cant hire more doctors and build more facilities to keep up with the demand (or curve). The truth is a shortage of doctors has been predicted for years as a result of the 1997 balanced budget act that doctors at the time supported. So if anything they brought this onto themselves because they were afraid of getting lower wages.

and now we're all being replaced by NPs.

Don't even get me started on this shitshow.

Start! Start! I've been curious about this for years now.

Alright, so. NPs don't really receive much training. It's 500 hours to become an RN and then 500 more to become an NP. I would be scared as fuck to be an NP with that level of training, because you have all kinds of shit to watch out for in an outpatient setting.

Compare that to residency, which, like is literally working 80 hr weeks while getting yelled at by your attending. For four years.

It's just downright terrifying at this point how cult-like this mask shit has become. You can't go anywhere, online or real life, without it being shoved in your face like the authoritarian propaganda it is. The past couple days in particular really pissed me off, first with some worrywart relatives visiting and forcing me to wear a mask in my own fucking house and then I tried to watch a new YouTube Poop for some easy shit to laugh at for once and not a minute it they made a COVID joke and sentence mixed the dialog to say "WEAR A MASK!" (with subtitles just for good measure). Like something straight out of some subliminal messaging mind altering scheme.

It really does feel like I'm living in a dystopian hellhole where everyone's become completely brainwashed to follow the every whim of Big Brother. And as I've alluded to before, it's only going to get worse because now all the people in power forcing this crap know they can get away with even more restrictions on what the populace can and can't do. We've given them an inch by wearing masks (and shaming/cancelling any who don't). They now have the go-ahead to take the entire fucking mile.

Fair discussion on hydroxychloroquine made impossible by political climate, Michigan hospital says
Henry Ford Health System is standing by its hydroxychloroquine study after it came up during a congressional hearing in which Dr. Anthony Fauci testified last week.

The hospital’s study found treatment with the anti-malaria drug “significantly” cut the death rate in COVID-19 patients. But Fauci, the nation’s leading expert in infectious disease, said the study was confounded by a number of issues, including that it wasn’t a randomized, placebo-controlled trial.

In an open letter on the discussion surrounding Fauci’s comments, health system leaders agreed that double-blind, randomized clinical trials are the most well-accepted method to determine the efficacy of a treatment. However, they noted that such studies take a long time to design, execute and analyze.

“Therefore, a whole scientific field exists in which scientists examine how a drug is working in the real world to get as best an answer as they can as soon as possible,” the letter reads. “These types of studies can be done much more rapidly with data that is already available, usually from medical records.”

The letter also points out the impact of political dynamics on the debate around hyrdoxychloroquine as a coronavirus treatment. President Donald Trump has repeatedly pushed the drug as an effective treatment, while many health officials have cast doubt on its safe and effective usage.

“Unfortunately, the political climate that has persisted has made any objective discussion about this drug impossible, and we are deeply saddened by this turn of events,” the letter reads. “Our goal as scientists has solely been to report validated findings and allow the science to speak for itself, regardless of political considerations.”

In early July, Henry Ford Health System reported having success cutting the death rate in sick patients hospitalized with COVID-19, using hydroxychloroquine, without heart-related side effects.

The retrospective analysis looked at 2,541 patients hospitalized between March 10 and May 2 across the system’s six hospitals. The study found 13% of those treated with the drug alone died compared to 26.4% not treated with it.

Henry Ford’s study was published in the International Journal of Infectious Disease, the peer-reviewed, open-access online publication of the International Society of Infectious Diseases.

Last week, Fauci poked holes in the study while asked about it during a House of Representatives Subcommittee on the Coronavirus hearing in Washington D.C.

“The Henry Ford Hospital study that was published was a non-controlled, retrospective cohort study that was confounded by a number of issues including the fact that many people who received hydroxychloroquine were also receiving corticosteroids, which we know from another study gives a clear benefit in reducing deaths with advanced disease.

“So that study is a flawed study.”

The director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases went on to say none of the randomized, placebo-controlled trials have shown any efficacy of hydroxychloroquine for use in treating coronavirus patients.

“I don’t have any horse in the game one way or the other,” Fauci said. “I just look at the data.”

Henry Ford’s open letter was written by Executive Vice President Adnan Munkarah and Senior Vice President Steven Kalkanis and published on the health system’s website Saturday, Aug. 1.

In it, Munkarah and Kalkanis said the “promising” treatment study should be considered another important contribution to the other studies of hydroxychloroquine

“We – along with all doctors and scientists – eagerly support the need for randomized clinical trials,” they wrote. “We also want to point out that scientific debate is a common occurrence with almost every published study. In part, this is what fuels the advancement of knowledge – challenging one another on our assumptions, conclusions and applications to get to a better place for the patients we collectively serve.”

The health system’s study can be read in full in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases, here.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, hydroxychloroquine is a U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA)-approved arthritis medicine that also can be used to prevent or treat malaria. It is available in the United States by prescription only.

Safety issues related to the use of hydroxychloroquine include serious heart rhythm problems, blood and lymph system disorders, kidney injuries and liver problems and failure, according to the FDA.

In a recent interview on NBC’s Meet The Press, Brett Giroir, the Trump administration’s coronavirus testing coordinator, said he could not recommend hydroxychloroquine because trials “do not show any benefits.”

“At first, hydroxychloroquine looked very promising,” Giroir said. “There were not the definitive studies. At this point in time, there’s been five randomized, controlled, placebo-controlled trials that do not show any benefit to hydroxychloroquine. So at this point in time we don’t recommend that as a treatment, there’s no evidence to show that it is.”

The open letter:
To our friends and colleagues around the country and globe:
We believe wholeheartedly that a mission statement is more than a plaque we hang on a wall, but rather an idea we embed in our hearts and minds that unifies, empowers and enables us to do what we do every day for the people of our communities.

Our mission is to improve people’s lives through excellence in the science and art of health care and healing. For more than 100 years, we have proudly pioneered clinical and scientific breakthroughs that have advanced health care here and abroad.

As an early hotspot for the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen and lived its devastating effects alongside our patients and families. Perhaps that’s what makes us even more determined to rally our researchers, frontline care team members and leaders together in boldness, participating in scientific research, including clinical trials, to find the safest care and most effective treatments. While feeling the same sense of urgency everyone else does to recognize a simple, single remedy for COVID-19, we need to be realistic in the time it takes to fully understand the optimal therapy or combination of therapies required of a new virus we are all trying to contain.

The most well-accepted and definitive method to determine the efficacy of a treatment is a double-blind, randomized clinical trial. However, this type of study takes a long time to design, execute and analyze. Therefore, a whole scientific field exists in which scientists examine how a drug is working in the real world to get as best an answer as they can as soon as possible. These types of studies can be done much more rapidly with data that is already available, usually from medical records.

Like all observational research, these studies are very difficult to analyze and can never completely account for the biases inherent in how doctors make different decisions to treat different patients. Furthermore, it is not unusual that results from such studies vary in different populations and at different times, and no one study can ever be considered all by itself.

Our promising Henry Ford treatment study should be considered as another important contribution to the other studies of hydroxychloroquine that describes what the authors found in our patient population. We – along with all doctors and scientists – eagerly support the need for randomized clinical trials.

We also want to point out that scientific debate is a common occurrence with almost every published study. In part, this is what fuels the advancement of knowledge – challenging one another on our assumptions, conclusions and applications to get to a better place for the patients we collectively serve. You can read the original study here and the senior author’s letter to the editor here.

Unfortunately, the political climate that has persisted has made any objective discussion about this drug impossible, and we are deeply saddened by this turn of events. Our goal as scientists has solely been to report validated findings and allow the science to speak for itself, regardless of political considerations. To that end, we have made the heartfelt decision to have no further comment about this outside the medical community – staying focused on our core mission in the interest of our patients, our community, and our commitment to clinical and academic integrity.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Adnan Munkarah, M.D., Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer
Steven Kalkanis, M.D., Senior Vice President and Chief Academic Officer

I will say though, I haven't felt this punk rock in years with all the looks I've been getting recently for not wearing one when walking around outside.

How can you tell the lockdown must be immediately ended?

The Federal Reserve wants to keep it going for at least another month.

Time to end it immediately.
