You can't buy hormones over the counter anywhere. There is a black market, but someone would either have had to buy it for Chris or be told about it.

There is a chance they're real. There is more to this story not public yet, and let's just say real black market stuff costs a lot of money that Chris doesn't have.

No not at all. But hormone replacement therapy is serious business and therapists have to be absolutely sure someone is transgender before prescribing them. Autism and depression can have similar symptoms to dysphoria.

So I think it's pretty safe to say Christian is not actually on hormones and Kim is just fucking with us. If what I'm hearing is correct you can't just walk into a shrink's office with a dress and get a "holy shit, give 'em hormones now!". If you can't get them after the first visit, then Christian doesn't have them.

Lots of people in this thread know way more than I do about what hormones do, how to take them, and how dangerous it could be if Chris doesn't have medical oversight. Let's just say I don't disagree with any of that in the slightest.

What concerns me is that we have a man* with very pronounced emotional problems and the mental development of a tween. He's autistic, paranoid from his shut-in lifestyle, and frankly kinda stupid. It's very reasonable to suggest he has undiagnosed gender issues in addition to all his other problems. Being told he can pop some pills and transition into a woman can't possibly be good for his mental state. It'll reinforce his misconceptions about gender, and likely give him further problems building functional relationships with people who aren't Barb/Rocky. Now honestly, I didn't see much hope for Chris's mental state ever improving, but unregulated hormone treatments seem like they'll do nothing but pour gasoline on the fire. I can't imagine any scenario where Chris isn't worse off, mentally, for having done this.

*I may, one day, opt to change pronouns referencing Chris. That day ain't today.

Also, Marvin's right in that estrogen helps with fat relocation, but it's not strictly the breast area; it's most visual in the bosom and hip areas, but it will change the way your muscle and fat tones look on your face as well. Plenty of people have been unable to recognize me after two years of treatment, and it's not because my boobs are a tiny bit perkier now.

The effects are really slow though (which is a good thing); unless Chris has been taking them for some time there's no way they'd have made a visual difference. Kim just coidly wanted to let us know Chris was taking something. A problem with estrogen though is that it makes you put on a lot of weight, so Chris might have that to look forward to (if he is taking actual hormones at all). Since he's got a lot of fat and little muscle tone in the first place, a growing girth might be the only visible effect at all.

But in all seriousness, how the fuck did he get his hands on hormone tabbys? Pretty sure you can't get those over the counter, did they fall off the back of a particularly irresponsible lorry? Petty sure no one in their right mind would prescribe that to someone as obviously unhinged as CWC.

But as people have pointed out they could just be sugar tablets that someone slightly more mentally ill than he is sold to him in the street that he promised would make him all woman overnight

If that's the case, then Chris unsurprisingly is taking medication without even having a cursory glance at the ingredients. A 5 second google told me that the active ingredient is a steroid that stimulates the ovaries into producing oestrogen, and as Chris lacks those (i'm fairly certain), he's essentially wasted a large portion of tugboat on something that's just going to make him more fat, if it does anything at all.

Because if there's two things Chris needs more than anything, it's to have less money and be more fat.

Taking estrogen by itself (especially some crappy OTC menopausal cream), without any t-blockers isn't going to do much to his appearance or his body.

And I can't see Chris having the money for serious hormones, which ain't cheap unless you get them covered by healthcare. My bet is he got his hands on his mothers estrogen cream and now he thinks he's 90% woman after 1 week of using it.

All it will do is fuck up his hormone balance which will lead to mood swings and a general sense of crappiness.

To me I see no change, he looks a little slimmer and the push-up bra makes his moobs stand out more but he still looks a 100% male and a 100% stupid.
