Not touching on the fact that 96% of women in Japan take on their husband's surname, but until the Meiji restoration (1868 ), common Japanese people did not have surnames, only Samurai and the nobility did. General public having surnames became mandatory only in 1898.

Since he specifically stated she is not part of a Samurai clan nor is she nobility, that would mean she would not have a surname, and neither would her "Senpai". Merchants would use the name of their brand in the place of a surname, or for example, name of their town and province.

Furthermore, a family that did not have any male heirs, would sometimes even adopt a male into the family. A son born out of wedlock is more likely to lead the family than the legitimate daughter. Law of equal inheritance was adopted only in 1945.
This is not even touching that at the time, marriage was almost always arranged by the family head, and not something borne of love and affection.

So the likelihood of there being several generations of female heirs during the Edo period is about as likely as Alex finishing Yandere Sim.

It wouldn't be impossible to get in as a foreigner (if one is to consider mishaps by boat travel), though I'd be honest: the first Aishi would make a better story than Yandere Simulator just because of all the wacky shenanigans that would be necessary for someone who doesn't speak the language to survive outside of Dutch or Portuguese areas of influence.

Of course, Alex is not a very practiced writer, and I doubt he'd want to do the work required to make such a story interesting.

Oh yeah, that would be under the sakoku, assuming the first "Aishi" would be from 1780. That would mean she'd either be from one of those countries, or she would've come to Japan being 73 years old nevermind, I'm retarded and failed to read the post saying she literally came there in 1797. That would leave one option that would actually make sense. I'd say kudos to him if he runs with it, but it's Alex, so the answer to that is obvious.
