"the instinctual reaction of a people" who have been gassed and hit by munitions
"But it was my instinctual reaction to rape her your honor, she was showing her ankles!"
They were told to disperse multiple times as the assembly had become unlawful and/or a riot.

They were the ones violating the law, violating lawful orders of an officer. They were the ones throwing shit and setting shit on fire.

The DA is only encouraging lawlessness, and supporting these insurrectionists.

Portland DA is surrendering the city.

I love how he tries to say that cops can still arrest people for the charges he listed. It's almost like arresting and booking someone does not come with a monetary and time cost to the police.

Oh well, I might post on a few conservative forums about how street preachers can occupy LGBT centers, abortion clinics, and the DMV.

If I was a cop, I would use my discretion and not arrest anyone at those places.

P.S. If Oregon allows open carry, those establishments can no longer ask you to leave.

I'm still listening to it and getting MATI.

First the feds cracked the siege. Then over the last week, the Oregon State Police successfully broke up the protests. Sunday night, they ended 3 hours early; last night, there were only a few dozen showing up to a remote precinct station, they managed almost no attacks, and they got shut down by the cops.

Portland had finally managed to get the riots under control, and turn them into just stupid minor protests where they go through the motions... and now this colossal dipshit just up and yanked the rug out from under law enforcement. He handicapped the cops after they already won.

I don't think it's tinfoil hat mode to suggest that the NLG realized the protest was dying down, and went crying to a long-term plant/sympathizer to see if he could revitalize the mob. This is going to embolden the assholes as they go through the suburbs and make everything miserable for the residents.

Funny, I have a different reaction, more of a "since the ones that are supposed to protect Portland and cities like it are failing at their jobs, good people need to step up and put a stop to the rioting by any means available." Funny how differently the human mind works, huh.

If the cops come out and say "we aren't arresting anyone who stands up to the mob", sure, let's organize a militia and roll out. But everyone knows that isn't the case. This guy just put his thumb on the scales of justice, explicitly saying he is going to protect the protesters. And he won't protect the people who try to stop them.

If you listen to at least the first 10-20 minutes (on 2x speed), you get an immediate feel for what's being said between the lines. The rhetoric he uses is 100% BLM woke abolitionist garbage, and that is coming from the DA. The staging reinforces this: it's well-dressed "organizers" in ties giving the grievance narrative, and saying this policy is just a start, there needs to be more concessions to their lunacy. And they're all just the bestest of butt buddies, working together for the progressive future.

Good people should GTFO of Portland. Let it burn.

Portland is an Antifa city-state. Antifa/BLM and Portland are one and the same.

It makes me think of the "Fire Dept" in Fahrenheit 451.

Your speech is violence
Our violence is speech
Ugly is beautiful
Looting is reparations
Lawlessness is the Law

It's only illegal if you get caught.
Remember to spraypaint #BLM on something once in a while and it's all good anyway.

I wonder if the FBI or DOJ Civil Rights Division could investigate this DA for refusing to enforce the law. If the Klan was doing things like this to government buildings and the white supremacist DA just let it go on, I highly doubt the feds wouldn’t find some pretext to take action.

I just heard the last question of that press conference and fuck everything. Listen to this absolutely useless scrap of a "man" admit that he doesn't give a fuck about the citizens he is supposed to protect.

"Oh the neighborhood is terrified? Residents are getting attacked? Not my problem, not gonna change my mind."

God I hope the mob comes for him next. I hope they trash everything he owns. And I hope the cops refuse to show up to stop them.

Question: "...lasers are being used on neighbors..."
DA: never mentions if assault will be charged, only arson, and property damage.

red terror vs nazi atrocities was a pretty even match overall tbh

jap shenanigans vs US attacks, not so much. the japs dished out a lot of brutality, mostly against the chinese, while the americans acted with a lot of restraint. the only serious shit the americans did in the pacific war were the a-bombs, and the actual damage done by those was still a lot less brutal than what the allied firebombing campaigns did to a bunch of cities in germany, or what the japs had done in manchukuo

The firebombing of Tokyo was much worse than the A-bombs, which targeted lower population areas.

Edit: clarity
