FUCKING. LAIN. of all things? fucking LAIN? not even surprised at this point.
Images of Lain were used in some poor attempt at an ARG a few years ago called the TSUKI project/systemspace. It involved a lot of vaporwave/e-art aesthetic. May have brought the show to the attention of people who didn't know about it and have probably never seen it, because it was covered by a few of those "reading spooky stories/explaining weird websites or ARGs" Youtube channels.

lmfao what a meme, stealing art and anime shit just to make a failed cicada 3301 rip off, real sad.

A lot of tryhard ARG creators these days who think they can replicate major ones like that. Usually involve stealing spooky scary movie footage and using VHS video effects from free video editors.

The only recent ARG I actually enjoyed and participated in was the "I Am Sophie" one, to be honest was one of the most fun ones in a while.

Yeah people love using the clip from that, fuckin uh, 50s-esque horror movie where the dude laughs and shit, then stabs himself and then receives fellatio from "mother nature", shit was pretty bland, but weird ass plot.
Think it was called "Begotten"? or some shit, watched it on youtube a while ago.

If I ever do an ARG I'll use footage from Holy Mountain.

Yeah, there's still a few good ARGs out there, and then you have disasters like "The Wyoming Incident" which has been going for I believe almost two decades, and the most they have to show for it is a fake "broadcast incident" video which most people don't even know ties into their bloated story line.

Another piece of footage that a few ARGs have endlessly used is from some European film where a couple goes insane and raises a tree baby.

Oh fuck yeah, please do.
I'm surprised no one has already. You'd think the kind of people pretentious enough to make ARGs would know more about crazy wacked-out art films than they do about generic horror movies.

I'm surprised as well, but these are mostly 16 year olds doing hardcore drugs while praising Pulp Fiction so, can't entirely say my hopes are high.

Honestly the only "ARG" if you can call it that I got into other than I am Sophie was the worlds.com disaster, nihilist is actually pretty dope.

I just hope at some point we'll get an ARG that we truly deserve, Marble Hornets is severely dated but that seems to be the only golden one.

Definitely my favorite. The cultural impact is so widespread too, it really touched a lot of different areas from viral marketing to cinema. It's like the Blair Witch of ARGs.

Can totally agree on that, I really gotta get back into watching that more regularly, MH was literally a fucking nuke on the 'creepy' side of the internet, I just hope we get a remaster or something close to a remaster soon, might take that project on actually.
Marble Hornets is truly the Alpha and the Omega of the 'creepy' internet.

So kiwis, what do you think?

So let me boil it down for you, since you’re obviously not gonna watch it.

• 20% of the video is her talking how great Steven Universe is, considering how it’s practically the poster-child of “muh representation” in cartoons
• she goes on about the good doctor, and how its “bad representation”
• talks about great being autistic is and other spergy nonsense
• and that’s just the icing on the cake

Other than being a female Enter, that’s all I can say about the video. At least I spared you 25 minutes.
"She's" supposed to be a female?

Noted simultaneous Chad and Soyboy Ben Carlin, one half of the fandom-theorizing (stealing from Reddit) Super Carlin Brothers, admittedly two of the most well-adjusted, normie YouTubers there are (suburban homes, attractive wives, the whole deal, though also the epitome of upper-middle-class white liberals), has done the Soyboy thing and dyed his hair with zero self-awareness and it looks awful.

Didn't even bother dyeing the soy beard to go with it smh

Aight lads I'm somehow surprised that this guy has never been mentioned before although his autism is a bit more literal than the rest of the people here.
Allow me to introduce you to this chav. Meet Dominic Noble, another british reviewer living in the States than mainly reviews book adaptations and ocasionally covers the kind of awful books you see in Kindle. He is tamer, younger and less volatile Oancitizen who is connected to a lot of other very specific reviewers including somehow MarzGurl, being a member of the kind of community of reviewers that summarises rather than actually reviewing.
He is pretty boring content wise and I only found his channel because YouTube usually recommends me the attached video, which is him taking a lot of time to establish that he is above mocking low hanging fruit as The eye of Argon. Besides namedropping Sarah Z what really catched my attention is his posture and use of jumpcuts. I hope I have helped you find your new favorite book reviewer.

He seems fine to me. Anything is better than marz.

I already mentioned Astrid in the personal lolcow thread but fuck it.

tl;dr Astrid is a schizo woman from Venezuela with 900+ videos about how Justin Bieber in cohoots with some dude named Mike Burdett is remote viewing her , gangstalking her and attacking her and everyone and everything around her with laser beams. She is my waifu, do not steal.

Here's yet another commenter with the smooth-brain take of "humans bad, animals good".
