Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Call it a photo finished.

The NBA terminated a photographer covering games as an independent contractor after he published an offensive meme of Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris to his Facebook account, according to various reports. The post drew widespread attention when it was shared and condemned by Basketball Hall of Famer Sheryl Swoopes.

Houston-based photographer Bill Baptist was let go from the NBA’s COVID-19 protective bubble at Disney World. He has covered the Houston Rockets for decades.

Baptist changed the official logo of presidential nominee Joe Biden’s campaign from “Joe 2020” and used a derogatory term for women instead of the year.

“So this guy works for the NBA but covers the Houston Rockets,” Swoopes, the WNBA of the Houston Comets, wrote. “Has been around for awhile. Even worked for the Comets. It’s amazing how people will smile in your face but eventually their true colors will show. @NBA and Houston Rockets he needs to GO!!! So disrespectful. Bill Baptiste (sic) shame on You!!!”

Baptist apologized in a statement released to KPRC-TV in Houston:

“I deeply regret posting on my Facebook page a phrase that I saw and copied from others as a sample of some people’s reactions to Biden’s selection of Senator Harris as his choice for VP,” he wrote.

“The phrase I posted does not reflect my personal views at all. I should not have been so insensitive to post the statements by others. I sincerely apologize to all of those who have rightfully been offended and I have taken the post down from my FB page. It was a horrible mistake on my part.”

Their loyalty always lies with whatever institution gives them the greatest chance at controlling the most people... which is why they jumped from Academia to big biz when the early 00's became the 10's, colleges having saddled you with a lot of undischarged debt, weren't exactly the heroes of society anymore, and you can always just blame the recession on Bush and the Banks..... soooo.. In the physical mailers I get, both sides use kids in their imagery. However the GOP usually has the politician and their smiling family, including kids. The Democrats have the politician helping kids at a school or event. I don't have anywhere near something like rigorous data to make a claim about it (they're all in a landfill now), but it does jive with my biased theories about how each party wants to be portrayed.

The funny thing is neither Biden nor Harris could pull off that "happy smiling family posing outdoors" photo without looking bad.

Trump has a bunch of well-adjusted successful children who are married, aside from his youngest son who's still a teenager. Pence has a loving wife and kids plus grandkids. Meanwhile Biden has a crack-addicted serial failure who couldn't even succeed at a job his dad blackmailed the Ukrainians to give him, and Harris is a childless harpy. Literally night and day.
