The Chinese Econ, is more or less a house of cards, propped up by the CCPs power. There are numerous ghost cities that were built only to never truly be occupied by people (as opposed to traditional ghost cities that were once populated but abandoned for one reason or another). You also have the issue of a lot of the rich in China are buying up properties in Vancouver Canada, and other west coast cities as an escape plan should the CCP "turn on" them, this has the second effect of causing housing to be unaffordable to Canadians in the area.
All one needs to do to collapese the Chinese econ is to have companies start pulling out, which looks to be more and more of a reality due to factors such as what happened to Hong Kong, COVID19, and its increased hostile outlook to its region.

Its actually because most of China's people was still simply trying to survive, and really didn't give a fuck about what some uppety college kids were up to. Here in the US, its the opposite. These thugs (not even worth getting called rioters at this point) are destroying people's businesses, livelehoods, homes, and their communities. I don't see peaceful protesters. I see violent revolutionaries and shooting violent revolutionaries is perfectly acceptable. Best to shoot them twice too, just to be sure they stay dead and don't come back. For now though the vast majority of people still have faith that the system will sort itself out without the need for literal blood in the streets. Which is why its horrifying how quick these cities are trying to undermine their own authority to keep the situation under control and prevent that very outcome.
