If you want one quick run-down on the issue, I recommend the book "Pedophilia & Priests: Anatomy of a Contemporary Crisis" by Philip Jenkins, an Anglican (IE, not Catholic and therefore not running defence for them) professor of the humanities specializing in the history of religion. His book looks at all the data he could find on clergy in the United States over a 30 year period and concludes that only 1 in every 2,252 members of the clergy of the Catholic church - male or female - are involved in credible accusations of pedophilic abuse. That's 0.04%, well below the general population's average. This book references many studies, and Google Scholar has plenty of other reliable sources (you know, things that aren't clickbait-peddling popsci magazines). I'm not even Catholic, but the narrative that they're rife with pedophiles is media spin designed to sell papers and get ad clicks.

I'd post a PDF of the book if I had one, but my copy is physical. I can try to track one down if anyone's interested.
