US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

There was this moment before the quote there:

That's an image that would usually make someone chuckle because every family has someone like that and it's a warm picture. But then you take into account Biden's mental health sharply declining and it becomes one where the family is just keeping up appearances, they don't want to hurt their elderly uncle's feelings by telling him "Stop talking, please" because he's embarrassing himself but also the other family members.

That's just sad.

Also this. :story:

And why would you put this picture into my head, Politico? The fan fics were already enough of a nightmare.

You fucking ass - I can't believe you've done this. Exposing my innocent eyes to such degeneracy.

How do you sleep at night?

Friday Aug 14 Limbaugh used 600 radio stations licensed to operate in the public interest to tell 20 million Americans that Senator Kamala Harris is a whore and ‘mattress’ who slept her way up the political ladder.
Limbaugh announced the Biden/Harris ticket has a nickname — “Joe and the Ho”.

He claims it’s not his knickname but he knows his repetition of it to 20 million people a day will establish it. He made his intention clear by making sure everyone knew to spell ‘ho’ with an ‘e’ as in ‘hoe’ — so technically it wasn’t ‘getto’ slang to suggest Senator Harris was a whore….
He repeated it a few times during the short segment, knowing it will get picked up by listeners and other talk show hosts. His listeners will call other shows because they can never get through to him and it’s possible paid callers from US and Russian think tanks will help spread it too.
Demented stage 4 cancer patient Limbaugh is sounding even more irrational than usual and it’s hard to tell when he’s quoting someone else or making stuff up.
In explaining why the Biden/Harris ticket deserves that nickname Limbaugh quoted a source:
“It is no secret but public knowledge that Kamala Harris slept her way up into California political life by being a very public escort and mattress for California Democrat Kingmaker Willie Brown.”
And:
“That is why Kamala Harris, who openly and brazenly slept her way into California Democrat state politics by publicly hooking onto the very married Willie Brown,
From that Limbaugh concludes:
So we have two different stories here that are trading off the known fact that she was Willie Brown’s mattress,
They had a consensual affair?
Advertisers on those radio stations, whether their ads are actually aired during the Limbaugh show or not, need to be asked if they think Senator Harris is a whore. All advertisers on those stations need to be asked. The advertising companies need to be asked. The ad executives need to be asked.
At fakenewsradio.org there’s a list of 87 universities that broadcast sports on 260 Limbaugh stations. They too need to be asked.
And recent research shows that 13 of the top 18 teams still playing NBA games this season broadcast sports on 32 radio stations that feature Republican/right wing/racist talk show hosts. 16 of the 32 stations headline Limbaugh.
So, while basketball players kneel for the anthem and wear jerseys declaring black lives matter and slogans calling for equality and justice, team owners continue to broadcast games on racist radio stations serving Trump and calling the first black woman VP candidate a ‘ho’ who slept her way to political success.
All advertisers and sports teams that use Republican radio stations need to be asked if it’s okay to be associated with the regular ignorance, hate, and misogyny on those stations. If not, they need to be convinced to find apolitical alternatives.
They just need to be asked. And they can all be asked at the same time if the Democratic Party and media stops ignoring talk radio and makes it so.
Americans who believe in democracy need offense. We can’t rely on GOTV and fundraising and professional athletes.

Limbaugh's demise will destroy the GOP if they don't abandon Trump - Dems need to use it
The multiplier effect that can make protests at these universities very scary for Trump and GOP

PS I didn’t research the references to Harris and Brown. According to commenters below, the relationship happened after Brown and his wife separated. That is not what Limbaugh said.

Saw Limbaugh trending today so I thought I'd poke around and find out why. Turns out they're trying to cancel him yet again because it's sexist to point out that the woman who had no problem arguing to keep black people locked up to feed the prison industrial complex sucked and fucked her way to the top. Put an R next to Willie Brown's personal mattress and we'll see who's making the jokes.

"Flush Rush" was the prototypical cancel culture mob and has been going on for what, 10 years now? It's how they tested the waters and saw what they could do without it being tort interference and how to organize harassment campaigns by targeting advertisers.

Just gonna put this here. Don't know if this has already.

WASHINGTON — If there’s one thing Sen. Kamala Harris learned from her time as the chief prosecutor of San Francisco and attorney general of California, it’s that young people don’t know what they’re doing, a video of Harris speaking in 2015 shows.
During a keynote address at a symposium hosted by the Ford Foundation, the then–California attorney general — now Democratic candidate for president — laid out her vision for a crime recidivism reduction initiative in Los Angeles.

The program, modeled on a similar initiative that Harris launched in San Francisco, would provide social services to young people 18 to 24 who were convicted of nonviolent felonies.

Why that population?

People that age are “stupid,” Harris told the audience.

“What’s the other thing we know about this population? And it’s a specific phase of life. And remember, age is more than a chronological fact. What else do we know about this population, 18 through 24? They are stupid,” Harris said, to wide laughs from the audience.

“That is why we put them in dormitories, and they have a resident assistant. They make really bad decisions. So we focused on that age population. [...] When I was at Howard University, and we were in college, we were 18 to 24, and you know what we were called? College kids,” Harris said with a loaded pause.

"It was a joke," a spokesperson for the Harris campaign said of the candidate's remarks.

Based on a similar program called “Back on Track” she launched as the San Francisco district attorney, its sister program in Los Angeles created social services that aimed to help “non-violent, non-sexual, non-serious” felons reintegrate into their communities. These included financial literacy training, child support services, and housing assistance.

The public-private partnership involved the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Probation Department, along with the Ford Foundation and a California-based charter school system.

But while laying out her vision for “smart on crime” criminal justice reform in California, Harris told the symposium audience that the smartest way to address crime recidivism is by preventing it –– which means targeting young people.

Harris also emphasized that while 18-year-olds can be charged and convicted of crimes as adults, they’re still developmentally young.
“When you turn 18 and you’re in the system, you’re considered an adult. Period,” Harris said. “Without any regard to the fact that this is the very phase in life in which we have invested billions of dollars in colleges and universities, knowing that is the prime phase of life, during which we mold and shape and direct someone to become a productive adult.”

San Francisco’s Back on Track program allowed first-time drug offenders to take high school classes and get a job rather than go to prison; it reported that fewer than 10% of its graduates committed new offenses. While it was geared toward people aged 18 to 24, Harris said during the Ford Foundation speech, people up to 30 years old were also taking advantage of the program.

Harris has touted her involvement in rolling out Back on Track as evidence of her self-styled record as a “progressive prosecutor.”
In her Ford Foundation speech, she said the San Francisco program “was fabulous.”

“This is what I love about being elected. Because basically, you don’t have to ask anybody permission,” she laughed. “So, pulled out a yellow pad and said, OK, I’m DA of a big city in the country. Let’s focus on a specific population and see what we can do to re-enter them in a way that they don’t re-offend.”

Young voters are poised to play a bigger role in the 2020 election than they did in 2016, with 43% of voters ages 18 to 29 saying they will vote in their party’s primary or caucus.

And by Election Day next year, a Harvard Institute of Politics survey reported this spring, the Millennial and Generation Z generations will comprise more than one-third of the eligible voting population.

Snopes is already coming to the rescue on this.

If Biden announces his whole cabinet there’s a greater chance he just says the wrong name at the wrong time and his cabinet shifts on the spot to avoid embarrassment.

Everyone thinks Rice is the VP but no it turns out it’s Buttgig and Rice is Secretary of State now.

You’d see it on their faces when it happens and they just have to grin and bear it until Trump points it out and the media has to defend the democrats

Bernie Sanders Defends Biden-Harris Ticket From Progressive Criticism: 'Trump Must Be Defeated'
Archive
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders defended the presumptive Democratic Party presidential ticket of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris from progressive criticism, saying the vast majority of liberals know the country must oust President Donald Trump.
Sanders sought to remind viewers of ABC News' This Week Sunday morning that in order for any progressive policies to make their way through government, Biden must be elected on November 3. The former Democratic presidential primary candidate against Biden touted Harris as "incredibly smart and incredibly tough" and a tremendous asset in taking down Trump in the upcoming election. Sanders pushed back against former members of his own campaign who are saying they are not enthusiastic about supporting the Biden-Harris ticket.

"I would say the overwhelming majority of progressives understand that it is absolutely imperative that Donald Trump be defeated," Sanders said Sunday morning.
"That we have a president who is trying to undermine American democracy, a president who has turned his back on the working families of this country, a president who has done a horrible job in terms of the pandemic, who does not believe in science, and who is not dealing with existential threat of climate change," Sanders continued.

The Vermont senator responded to his former 2020 campaign National Press Secretary, Briahna Joy Gray, who joined many progressive liberals and Sanders backers in saying Biden hasn't done enough to embrace their views.
"We are in the midst of the largest protest movement in American history, the subject of which is excessive policing, and the Democratic Party chose a 'top cop' and the author of the Joe Biden crime bill to save us from Trump. The contempt for the base is, wow," Gray tweeted on August 11, referencing Harris' controversial past as California's attorney general — something Sanders criticized during his own primary run.

Sanders responded Sunday: "Obviously there will be some disagreements, a lot of my supporters are not enthusiastic about Joe Biden — you know why? I ran against Joe Biden."
"But I think there's overwhelming understanding that Donald Trump must be defeated, Biden must be elected, and the day after he is elected we are going to do everything we can to create a government that works for all of us and not just the one percent and wealthy campaign contributors," the senator continued.
Sanders reflected on his time spent working alongside Harris in the Senate and touted her as an aggressive asset to Biden on the campaign trail against Trump.
Newsweek reached out to Sanders' Vermont Senate office as well as the Biden campaign for additional remarks Sunday morning.

The problem with this statement is that while Harris isn’t necessarily wrong, her approach and her ego makes it hard for anyone to take her seriously. Implying that young people aren’t smart enough to make decisions while you yourself were a young slag hanging out with Willie Brown is not good optics.

If you’re dead, I’m betting your gravestone is literally shaking at this.

Huh, the gap between Trump and Biden is shrinking. For anyone who doesn't want to read, things just got a lot narrower in pretty much every battleground state, and general enthusiasm for Trump is increasing. If anyone is getting deja vu, it's because this exact chain of events happened four years ago.

This right here is the big thing to look at. To parrot a term from the left "Love Trumps Hate". Running a campaign entirely on the perceived flaws of your opponent is a weak strategy. You have to have a base that is enthusiastic about you as a candidate. Biden does not have that, like at all. Trump has a base that actively supports him because they identify with his policies and are excited by him. I'm starting to think we're gonna be looking at a slaughtering on the electoral college level.

I saw one poll posted on CBS last night that indicated that voter enthusiasm for 2020 is actually higher with Republicans than Democrats, so it seems that the MSM is failing in their attempts to demoralize Trump's voter base even with the rioting and Corona-chan still making the rounds. I won't go so far as to guarantee a Trump win because that would be foolish but things do seem to be changing as we're drawing closer to November, it'll be interesting to scour over it all in the aftermath.

They also polled Dems asking them what they wanted to hear from the DNC speeches, it was between "Why should we vote for Biden/Harris" and "More criticism and attacks against Trump" and the vote was almost overwhelmingly in favor of "Why should we vote for Biden/Harris" so they may be tired of their 2 minutes of hate that has lasted for four years and actually want to hear Biden's platform and what he wants to do while in office.

Another thing is that Trump has generally still be running on his pet issues that his base support, Biden has essentially been running on "I'm not Donald Trump" which I just don't see as a winning strategy because it implies that the majority of the nation is anti-Trump which isn't rational because we know Trump voters do exist, the man won in 2016 because they flipped states that the Dems had assumed were safe bets.

Are Trump supporters getting bolder or is his base/the anti-Biden voting base becoming larger?
