Well, what happened to Reginald Denny in the LA riots was precedent for mobs to beat the shit out of people in vehicles when they stop. Also, it is important to be aware of what state you are in, if you know rioters are blocking roads in some states, it is actually legal to run through them. I don't know which exact states, but there is a very good reason for the existence of those laws. Still, it's always best to try and avoid the situation however you can first, turn around as far away as you can because you might not be able to see immovable obstacles hidden in the crowd, and you might get the shit beaten out of you either way even if it is legal to run them down.

IMO this is the aftershock of Zero Tolerance policies, where kids who tried to get help from being bullied were either punished for defending themselves or insisted to 'talk it out'. Since the teachers would do nothing, the bully can continue while staff preened themselves about their moral superiority. Familiar attitude, right? If the kid snaps or kills themselves, they never take responsibility for failing as wards. That kind of abusive conditioning can fuck with people, probably for life.
Kind of like how blm/antifa thinks you should hug it out with your rapist and let them know it was a little inconvenient of them to violently perforate your colon with a silly raping. De-escalate, people.

This guy got out OK. It's not impossible. You just have to be more aware of your surroundings, and pick the right way out of the situation.
Worth noting that most of the road takeovers happen late at night, because the morons know they can't hold back real traffic, only the light scattered cars that can be isolated. So if you're driving at night, plan ahead and carry a gun.

Also know the surface streets and alternate routes in your area really well so you can find better ways around to avoid protest areas completely during known trouble times. Remember they are doing this because they were latchkey kids and they crave Attention, they stick to well-known busy roads and highways. If you know how to get around on the old farmer's road and around the back side of the neighborhood, you'll never even see them.
This is one reason I refuse to leave even though "hurr durr you get what you deserve if you stay in that hellhole." No amount of "muh red voters" can replace generations of knowledge of the landscape at rote muscle memory level, where it's easy to lose a follower, where you can find pockets of potentially sympathetic people, etc.

Yeah. Sometimes you just need to shut off social media and the internet, and realize the vast majority of people don't care at all about this insane woke riot shit other than "Just leave me alone." For 95% of us in the US, there were riots for a day or two in a part of our city we've known to avoid for years, and that was it. If you live in Portland, you should finally realize to get out.

It gets even worse the deeper you dig. All of the news sites sell a ton of data on everyone who goes through them, even if they do it indirectly through embeds and this data is basically sold to whoever has money. It's part of a larger corporate spying network and is only getting more invasive as time goes on. So there are companies who know exactly what news you read, how long you read it, when you read it, where you read it, and then some. From that alone they can reasonably infer a lot about you and combined with millions of other visitors paint more accurate pictures of demographics across the country (and partially the world) than ever before.
Ads are no longer just trying to sell you stuff, they're tracking you and profiting off of you as well.
