I may be jumping the gun, but I am expecting the history books 20-30 years from now and beyond will say just how fruitful and progressive the riots were with a lot of scary pics of riot police and probably that Missouri rich lawyer and his wife as extra bad guys.

I think the point was to make the country hate black people more by telling them that black people can commit all the felonies that we want, but you aren't allowed to be mad at us.
I think the other point was to make white people abandon their black friends if their black friends DIDN'T want people committing murder and arson. That I'm not really black just like Terry Crews isn't black anymore. Not that I would know about that of course.

This sounds about like what I caught of it, though I think the white people were lined up there to prevent entry into their neighborhood.
IIRC the blacks turned around and used a different road as they were walking down a different tiny country road in the dark when the stream cut out. There was no sound for it on my stream but it looked like someone may have been marching with them towards the end who wasn't on their side, but that's just an impression I got from snippets I caught so unclear if that's actually true.
No idea what the charging situation ended up being but suddenly a big fucking lightbulb went off in my head when the discussion about ticketing one of the black marchers came to "he's got no ID" which was causing the trooper to have trouble looking him up and delaying the ticketing process. I don't know if he ever got a ticket by the time the BLM marchers decided to leave. I feel dumb not stumbling to it sooner but that situation certainly crystallized it in my brain.
That said I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, to learn our melanated brothers and sisters don't get ID to make law enforcement's job more difficult. I have to say the quibbling about voter ID just took on an even more sinister bent in my mind given this.

Imagine for a minute if the Black community was unhindered by "Black Culture" - the black culture that was hard set by the early 2000s - the whole "being a thug is part of your culture, education is the white devil's tool, Black Fathers Fuck Off, Welfare is the niggers right" "culture" that was cultivated for mainstream consumption.
Imagine an educated black community, a productive black community. A productive American society.
The progressive left wouldn't be able to get a solid foothold on that. They'd have no issues to exploit, no "violent revolution" that'd need to take place.
Now they've completed their destruction phase of the black community, it's the isolate phase.

Yeah, for whatever reason the entire demographic of left-wing people somehow believe that black people cannot obtain an ID, and it's racist if you think they should get one. It's the whole 'racism of low expectations' shit once again, same old tired trope the leftists always drag out. They seem to think all black people are way too poor to afford an ID [costs like 8 bucks in my state for a basic ID, not license] or they think that black people aren't smart enough to go to the DMV and fill out paperwork. Truth of it, of course is that requiring ID would make voting more cumbersome for a demographic that by and large always votes for a certain party. Plus it also makes it difficult for 'undocumented workers' to vote too, though that demographic isn't so cut and dry. Besides, if every ballot were tied to an ID/driver's license number, how would the DNC pass off all of those shoeboxes full of Biden votes they'll find a couple weeks later? How would they ensure that Joe Sixpack's grandmother, who died in 1996, would have her voice heard? Weird that she voted for Hilary from the afterlife in spite of being a lifelong Republican, but maybe she changed her mind.
I wouldn't doubt if some segments of the black community were very much against getting ID, though, just to make that evil white jackbooted policeman's day just a little harder. It most likely isn't a matter of black people not having ten bucks to pay for the card, and I don't think paperwork is beyond the understanding of Melanin Americans considering they seem to be able to apply for SNAP and WIC just fine. The ones who are up to no good [a large cross-section] could benefit from making it more difficult for the cops to identify them, and the broader scheme is that the Democratic party knows that black people wouldn't be able to vote if Voter ID laws passed. Really, if you can't pony up ten bucks for a fucking ID card, or you find paperwork to be way too difficult, you've got other things to worry about than fucking voting and the country is likely better off if you don't get to.

I've been listening to the Indianapolis police scanner tonight and there have been at least 2 calls where someone has been in the street deliberately trying to get hit by a car. Is this their new M.O.?

During the Democratic primaries, I was working on a theory that the left was feeling outright embarrassed by the black community. They tried out all their liberal policies on blacks before the nationwide rollouts, and it just made life worse for them. Going into the late 90's, they kind of gave up because they ran out of fixes.
I think that's how intersectionality came into prominence. The usual excuses of "blacks aren't the problem, they just need more welfare/benefits/jobs/education/funding" failed for the 40 years after The Great Society. They ran out of excuses, and needed a new one for why liberal policies didn't work in the cities they controlled.
So they came up with "blacks aren't the problem, everything else is racist and oppressing them". At least the Marxists were honest when they were trying class analysis; intersectionality just treats the labelling of any class as the analysis itself.
(Of course those excuses running out also energizes the white supremacist/nationalist arguments we've had in this thread, as well. I directly blame the liberal refusal to debate their own failings, or salvage the non-racial justifications of the approaches, for the rise of the alt-right.)
In that light you can view BLM as the far left counterpoint to the Candace Owens style Blexit movement: a recognition by blacks themselves that they have been abandoned by their traditional political allies. If the liberals aren't going to try any more, blacks want to try something on their own, and the George Floyd incident is the excuse they grabbed to go off. It's not a coincidence this all happened after the Democratic nomination was wrapped up, with everyone patting Biden on the back for getting high black support without even campaigning.
Owens says "try Republicans", BLM says "fuck whitey of any party". And now co-opted BLM says "fuck whitey but also vote for Democratic whiteys". You hate to see it.
(At some point, someone might bother trying to fix the black community from within the black community, instead of pushing an ideological project onto the problem. But that would require treating blacks as people, not as guinea pig test subjects or pet projects that you can grab federal budget to play with.)
