And honestly, I’d say the reason that leftists are in overdrive now is because they feel they have an obligation to take out Trump and to destroy everything he’s done to bring about the progressive utopia they felt they were promised would come back in 2016.
Vic consistently goes above and beyond for his fans and has multiple iconic anime roles that most people in the industry would kill for (Like say, someone such as Sabat who wants the role of Broly). That combination makes him more successful on the con circuit than pretty much every other voice actor in anime (to the point it's actually embarrassing to compare). They hate him because they want his level of success without love for the fans or the effort. Him being a devout Christian just makes it easier.
I’d say the salvation depends on what their stance is when it comes to their specific target of hatred.

It's the "cool" thing to do. I remember when con rumors started up with how Vic was a diva and would verbally chastise fujo-shits. Then everyone had a "vic story" how he was mean to the "poor poor yaoi fan" even though a majority have proven to have harrassed him. And, to be honest, as a young fan I believed some of the less outrageous claims with the whole "where there's smoke, there's fire".
