Well, I wanted to wait until I actually heard the episode to weigh in, and it was pretty much what I suspected when I first started reading this drama. Dick was right. This was not the "own" that this thread is making it out to be. And to me, it was actually Null who seemed to be wavering in his position.
First, I don't like the Leftist tactic of defining your enemy, and using that for your argument. "Republicans are Nazis, therefore if you associate with Republicans, you are associating with Nazis". "Lolicon is pedophilia, therefore if you associate with someone into lolicon, you are associating with someone into pedophilia". It's circular logic. And in the days reading posts about "Dick defends pedophilia", "Dick supports child porn", "Dick is ok with child rape", I knew when I listened to it, it was going to be an argument about drawings. Anybody omitting that distinction is doing so in bad faith, IMO.
Drawing aren't real. In fact getting off on drawings is the weird part, it doesn't matter if it's anime girls, furry shit, or Renaissance paintings.

TDS is a conservative podcast with a conservative audience? No, not really. Dick openly abuses drugs and alcohol, tried to start a polyamorous relationship, and hates the cops. He's always skewed more libertarian. Digibro, Furry orgy lady, bread fucker, they are weird sideshow shit that some people find funny.
But what would religious conservatives like Nick Rackets and Doug Tenapple think? Well, why is anybody giving a fuck what religious conservatives think now? c That comes off more of a cynical attack point than actual concern about religious conservatives. Also, there's that whole, "Judge not, lest ye be judged" aspect to Christianity. I'm not even religious, but I've never stopped being a friend with someone because I didn't like someone they were friends with.
What about what truckers think? This doesn't make sense because "trucker" isn't stereotypically seen as a wholesome family man. Quite the opposite, trucks are stereotypically crude roughnecks. Truckstop restrooms, truckstop hookers, truckers picking up teenage hitchhikers that end up dead. Even female truckers are crude, like Large Marge. I doubt any of them are offended by kids looking at cartoon girls.
I guess I'll end this rant by saying being against thought crimes is not defending pedophilia. Again, this is a circular logic that not saying Black Lives Matter means you think black people should die.
