I doubt that the DNC see it as a problem. They chose Kamala Harris because they want her to become the President. They don't give a shit about Biden, he's just a cardboard cutout. They probably have already written the scenario if Biden wins: he will step down after a few months (because an old huwite male in the WH?! That's my theory as well. No one is impressed with the convention, we know they won't get an organic bounce. I think they're facing an energy void, so they want to generate a late October "surge" of enthusiasm via rising polls.
On the other hand, we're sufficient time out from the Harris pick that her disapproval might be showing up in the polls. That would be the expected organic source for a dip. I haven't had time to dig into the polls, so I can't say for sure.
