This documentary traces the evolution of the video game industry, from the days of Atari and "Donkey Kong" to modern online gaming and esports.

1 episode in, so far it's "very okay". Incidentally, there's a Space Invaders kid who years later trooned out, and the engineer who first developed video game cartridges back in 1976 was a black dude.

They talk about his research and achievements, which are remarkable by themselves, but you can hear the "aha! see? we wuz vidya engineers!" undertone behind it.

Anyways, episode 6 is about id Software and Doom, so I am looking forward to it.

Kinda sad they covered Doom and Id when Masters Of Doom has pretty much covered everything. Missed opportunity to do it on Marathon and the early Bungie days as Marathon like Doom and Wolf pioneered a ton of shit such as mouse look being standard. Also want to figure out what the fuck happened to Greg Kirkpatrick since he only wrote the Marathon trilogy then disappeared off the face of the earth.
