It seems to me like he's pretty much disowned her for that stunt and is trying to just, as I said, make the best of a horrid situation.

I think she was for real, there was some tape from barnhill after the Miami fiasco where he called up Nora to tell her that he could help her with Ralph and she told him to fucking fuck off. She was this gatekeeper that kept him from spedding out all the time. Ade even said that when Ralph was in jail for that year she kept him going financially and made sure everything stayed level for his mom too. Who else would have ever done that for him? I don't even Gator would have gone that far.

Remember all the times she would show up after he went on a bender with her builder's tea and help him get back on the wagon again? You could tell Nora was a very stabilizing force in Ralph's life but it seemed to all unravel after Ralph accused Warski of trying to fuck her.
