The Vickers family is vicious.
Both the father and the daughter act like the usual stereotypes ... over-bearing father, rebellious daughter - but they both cranked it up to some insane levels.
To bring up some examples that caught my eye while skimming through the Timeline:
- Taking away Faith's phone and laptop while she's asleep, a grave invasion of privacy in my humble opinion
- Slipping into her social media accounts without her knowledge
- Actively tracking her phone... this setup must have been going on for a while, way before this nonsense started
I won't say these actions didn't come from a place of desperation, I get it. But I can also see why Faith's trust issues deepened so much. It's a vicious cycle, is all I'm saying.
On the other hand, Faith also went way too far in her quest for ''independency''. Or is it teenage lust. I don't even know.
- Pulling the suicide card is a no-no
- Wracking up all these drama and begging her family to solve them for her while actively running away from home. Dude. C'mon now. That's embarrassing
- Telling really serious lies that have the potential to ruin lives
Anyway this is just an opinion formed from the info presented. I'm sure there are a lot more nuances to this shitshow.
I'm just wondering now if Mr Vickers is playing the long con, i.e. ruining Ralph so hard that Faith has no choice but to crawl home. Disowning a child isn't the same as actively burning all her escape routes. It's just a bit severe now. You've already won, dude.
