Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? I remember there being a lot of friction over it being taught about in schools and recall it showing up on TV a lot. It certainly was not as big a movement as other things but it was more than a few white people thinking it was an ancient Kenyan secret.

I also remember listening to pundits talk about the crimes this guy committed and saw them attacked for simply speaking the truth.

Kwanzaa should have served as a red lantern for this country but most were calmed by being told that it is not a slippery slope and you must accept diversity. The engine kept steaming and here we are...years of siege in cities and a complete erosion of civil rights.

Yes and no. There's a reason that there is always talk about political polarization - votes are increasingly locked into a given party. Thus, it's not a matter of crafting compelling policies that resonate with the so-called "independent" voters, it's about getting your already locked-in voters out as much as possible. It's why Joe Biden will get almost half of the vote despite not really having a platform.

EDIT: To explain further, think about how Joe Biden won the primaries. He didn't have to do anything, he just relied on the black vote turning out for Obama's VP. to give him wins, and then bandwagoners jumping to him And guess what? It worked.

Not necessarily, a lot of cringeworthy nonsense is pushed in elementary schools that kids simply forget or mock afterwards. Remember "Multiple intelligences", those hamfisted "anti-bullying" campaigns and the century-long attempt to stop kids from using curse words that resulted in each generation being more foul-mouthed than the last? Teachers at my school even tried to make us think saying "X sucks" was somehow wrong, nobody bought that IIRC.
