Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Also, Biden's speech had worse ratings than Hilldawg apparently. 5 million less than Hillary in 2016, a 20% drop. Less than 1 million of those viewers were 18 to 49.

The ticket was supposed to be Kamala + harmless throwaway progressive VP pick. Tulsi wrecked that plan in the 1st debate, and the entire orchestrated primary fell apart as the pesky voters kept going for the Emergency Backup Old White Guy instead. Now Harris is the "pandering to progressives" pick, which is hilarious, and Tulsi is persona non grata without ever saying anything wrong on policy.

You were going to get Harris either way, it just looks extra dumb the way they had to do it. Plus, the conciliatory plan to bring progressives in line is dead, the next attempt by the party may look even wilder.

its more likely that democrats arent the types to build anything financially worth while and have no idea what this shutdown is doing to businesses.

back in march our mayor had great big balls and was on the tv threatening to use the courts to shut businesses for good, he even went and sued a couple of "non essential" businesses

but as the shutdown continued and businesses closed for real and tax revenue plummeted and our primaries were rolling in, he shut the fuck up, dropped the lawsuits and is trying not to make waves.

it makes me thankful i dont live in chicago or nyc where the idiots quadruple down.

I've talked to civil servants in the UK, they want people locked down near permanently until we get a vaccine. They want to rush a vaccine and then get everyone on it, where companies are not liable for anything that happens. Thankfully they don't make that decision, but it is absolutely terrifying.

I'm not some weird anti-vaxxer, but when you talk to some people or listen to some politicians, they are literally banking on a vaccine to cure Coronavirus and want people to stay at home. Mind you, other strains of Coronavirus (SARS, MERS) that have been known for decades, still no vaccine. AIDS, Malaria, the common cold, all illnesses that have been looked at for over 50 years, still no vaccine. Yet somehow they are going to magic up one for Coronavirus in the next year and rush it to market because it's so infectious and deadly? That should send alarm bells off that maybe you shouldn't rush to spend a fortune and get one in case it has terrible side affects. You now have a population with these side affects that can't sue the vaccine companies for compensation as a result of side affects.

That should put you on edge for when this shit magically comes out. Joe is a fucking idiot or a pharma shill if he wants to lock people back in their homes. That guy will destroy businesses for what? An illness that the overwhelming majority of people recover from? It's not SARS at 10% mortality, it's not MERS at 30% mortality, that would be understandable. Either that or he and the party are hoping to get everyone unemployed or on welfare checks where then his party basically owns you.

If they're actually cutting corners on testing and rush out a vaccine that backfires the damage to the modern medical establishment is going to be catastrophic; Polio vaccine development basically froze in development for over a decade when even only a few dozen children died from a botched vaccine trial out over 10,000 tested.

So lets hope that doesn't happen.

Two things drive the attempt to keep the foreverpanic going over COVID and keep everything locked down.

1. They want the economy shut down and trashed not to make you a welfare dependent, but so you blame the sitting President, which ALWAYS happens in a recession, and, just for good measure:

2. They want you too scared or demoralized to go outside to the polls.


The goal of both is ultimately to depress the Trump/Republican turnout.

That way they can either leverage the fact that more people vote blue than red and get a "clean" win, or simply get the margin of victory down to where they can deploy the "Dirty" option: a win through unverifiable mail-in ballots that will be declared legal by some forum-shopped Judge even if 300 show up in a car trunk and all have identical handwriting and chemically-identical ink.
