Stanford has been largely disproved for its original findings actually. The fact that it is still cited says more about how poorly run the psychological publication industry is rather than the strength of the experiment. Its actually says far more about the researchers who prepped and even outright told the inmates/prison guards to do what they did, but honestly that goes back to the white coat experiments which proved the same thing far more ethically.

Wasn't this made obvious when Judith Butler is still taken seriously? And her entire premise is built upon an experiment that actually showed the opposite of what it was claiming?

Powerleveling here, but I'm definitely what you'd call a nerdy chick. When I joined theatre freshman year with a few of my nerdy-ass friends there were two jock juniors who were also a part of the program, surprisingly enough. They took us under their wings and looked out for us, even though we were a bunch of dweeby kids. When I was getting hardcore bullied by a boy (who was a massive nerd, for the record, so another strike against Bob's preconceptions) one of the guys threatened to bash his teeth in, and the other told me before he graduated that he saw me as the little sister he'd never had. There was also a cheerleader-type girl that I sat across from in art class who was genuinely one of the sweetest girls I'd ever known who always complimented me on my art skills. We'd bounce ideas for projects off of each other and chat about whatever and we generally made that class way more fun for each other than it would have been without. It was the more nerdy people that made my life hell in high school, but you'd sooner get Bob to say that rural people deserve rights than you'd get him to admit that nerds can be dickheads, too.

In conclusion: jocks are pretty nice, yo. Bob's just projecting onto stereotypes that he's gathered from shitty 80's movies.

That's the main thing. Bob has very little real life experience and doesn't understand that movies are not real. He might understand that the characters and stories of a particular movie are made up, but he thinks that the underlying internal rules and tropes of those movies are real. So he might know that the characters are fake, but believes that their archetypes are absolutely real and universal.

My theory is that he's basically a sociopath in that he is incapable of even imagining other people's viewpoints and thoughts. He can't understand motivations that are more complex than the basic black/white moralities of the movies, and so that's all he ever applies. It all relates back to his childhood and what he saw on the telly. He wasn't a bullied nerd per se, but the bullied nerds on TV were the closest he could relate to, and since the bullied nerds always won in the end and got the hot girl and whatnot, that's what he thought, no, KNEW would happen. This whole "I deserve good things happening to me" mentality manifested in him being a basic Ayn Rand fanboy pre-GG, but the creation of the online-SJW-in-crowd caused him to abandon that mindset. He went from “ethics in games journalism-ers aren’t real gamers” to “be a better gamer, work out” (hah) until finally resting on “evil right-wing FPS jocks have infiltrated gaming!” a position which he essentially holds to this day.
