Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

It never ceases to amaze me how people completly fail to grasp 40k is a warning not an blueprint.

I'm only familiar with it through Genestealer, which I thought was a parody of neoconservatives.

The entire thing was cooked up in the 80s by weird-o, Thatcher-hating punks and metalheads who really, REALLY fucking loved Dune, Judge Dredd, and the Heavy Metal and 2000AD comics. I do think the parody has become more subtle over the years which has made it harder for some people to pick up on the fact that it's a parody.

trump is perhaps the most physically ugly person in american politics in recent history, why do his fans think that trying to portray his appearance in this style of art is doing him any favors?
what the fuck is it.jpg

couldn't remember the name at first, searched "black mayor that looks retarded"

Is it really, though? These are guys that just a few years ago hated Putin, and now think he's great because Trump said.

Wearing the skulls of children with MAGA hats on them is giving me mixed signals,

in the setting they have a tendancy to utilize skulls as a symbol and holy relic and the size differance is probably because he's a space marine who are giant monster men.

I like how they always try to portray him like he isn't a fat fuck.

A lot of the art shows him as a fierce warrior king but he's never been in the military and their's some circumstancial evidence he's a draft dodger.

Its not unheard of for people to fail to grasp parody. Many read up on 'Watchmen' and fail to get that characters like Rorschach are at best villains who are slightly better than their enemies and Moore was by no means saying 'this is how supers should be' it was 'this is what edgy supers are like if they were real and only an idiot would want this'.Some of this is a result of a failure to understand what is being made fun of.Someone who reads up on Watchmen but wasn't around in the 80's would largely not get the satire of Reagan era America unless they happen to know their history. Some might even miss the fact that Doctor Manhattan is named from the Manhattan project and might just think its some cool name Moore thought of.Then again most might not get the fact that Homelander in The Boys is obviously meant to make fun of Homeland Security and is just a representation of right wing xenophobic attitudes of the post-9/11 era.Although you'd have to be pretty naive to not get it.

I can assure you that the parody is dead. GW's current background writers are exclusively middle-class Tory voters, with most senior management and influential figures at Lenton all belonging to the same evangelical church. The Bolt Thrower days are long gone, and the lore is now generic 'space man kill alien' toss.

The last interesting writer they had was Alan Bligh, and the sharp decline in the quality of FW's Horus Heresy stuff after his passing is testament to that.

When I checked back in to the game's fluff a while back, I did get the feeling that maybe they weren't being tongue-in-cheek anymore but couldn't say with 100% certainty, since I thought it's possible they were getting maybe a bit too subtle with the parody. This news comes as a complete and total non-surprise

It would probably be hypocritical of him to destroy someone else's property.
Okay, you have a point.

Explain this to me. Where is the logic with destroying property as a "protest?" Especially when you bought it and they already got your money?

That's cutting off your nose to spite your face.
