I get the feeling the trailer may of been purposely edited to generate a hate mob, and get a lot of interest. Only for it to turn out that it was misrepresentation and the film doesn't actually condone that behavior.

oh come on, the "its an avant garde hard hitting film thats SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE that just coincidentally uses all the typical call-signs and dogwhistles for pedos" shit is one of the the oldest tricks in the book of subversion. i never see it brought up except as an excuse to un-ironically promote socially unacceptable stuff. its so transparent if you look at netflix's statements on it. or just the history of other films/media that claim the same.
its not about the content of the movie, entirely irrelevant. it's about the netflix promotional material and netflix's statements on it. the movie itself could be whatever, that's not what people are actually upset about.
