Officer-involved shooting under investigation in Kenosha

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58 ) -- An officer-involved shooting investigation is underway in Kenosha on Sunday, Aug. 23.

The shooting happened near 28th Avenue and 40th Street around 5:11 p.m., after officers were called for a "domestic incident."

According to police, officers provided immediate aid to the person. They were transported via Flight for Life to Froedtert in Milwaukee for treatment. The person is in serious condition.

A large crowd gathered near the scene following the shooting.

Kenosha Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin State Patrol were requested immediately so that the scene could be turned over to an agency other than Kenosha police.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ), Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) will handle the investigation.

That's completely irrelevant both legally and socially.
The cops were in the right to shoot once he reached into the car, and the wokesters will chimp out no matter what the details of the incident. Everyone digs their heels in further believing this event irrefutably proves their opinions were correct.
Legally? Probably, depends, wait for body cam footage, etc.

Socially? Haha no, nigga be the new Floyd.

Still shitty police work, the jogger shouldn't have gotten anywhere near the driver's door in the first place.

The cops should have let him get in the van and run down the people standing in front of it if there wasn't a gun?
No the cops should have body slammed on him into the grassy passenger side of the vehicle before he ever got to the drivers side.

Jesus fucking Christ, I used to work as a bouncer at a bar / concert venue years ago and we easily handled clowns like this.

You're telling me a couple of hicktown cops had no solution other than to tug on his t-shirt while shooting him?

According to a far-left source (WaPo,) this is the first death at the hands of cops in that city since 2015 (white guy.) So, naturally, we'll get widespread violence and condemnation of a "racist justice system" and stories about how dindus in the area are living in fear 24/7 of klan robe wearing cops gunning them down for sport. Maybe don't reach inside your car when the cops have their guns drawn and are telling you to stop.

I already brought up in a previous post that I do not understand why they did not restrain the subject before it escalated. People are talking about the events of the shooting itself and how it isn't justified. I don't think it should have ever gotten to the point where the shooting happened, but it did.

Tear gas deployed on one section of the Kenosha chimp-out. Chimps started screeching to burn down the police station and calling police bitches. Truly the sons and daughters of the Obamas. Woke.net muting, cutting and switching feeds like his life depends on it.

PEACEFUL. PROTEST. In Kenosha.

First of all, bodyslamming a guy who's just walking is itself escalating the situation and sure to get the left screeching about brutality then they'll riot anyways because they love rioting just for rioting's sake.
Furthermore, since he hasn't put his hands up sending a guy or two dashing toward him creates a perfect moment for him to pull out a knife or gun and then someone gets seriously injured or killed.
The correct course of action is for him to surrender to the men pointing guns at him and work from there. This man was the one in the wrong here, he had plenty of chances to stop walking and not open the car door, yet if he's too stupid to understand that his insubordinance will get him killed then he's the one at fault, the police shouldn't be putting themselves into increasingly risky situations to attempt to "deescalate" with someone who isn't acting rationally in the first place. Trying to figure out "what they should do when the person is continually defying them" like that is like having a plan for staying in your house while it's on fire and coexisting with the fire instead of getting the fuck outside.
