Thing is, you don't need to reform it to pull it off. All you have to do is prove that they are engaging in editorializing, which given their obsession with banning right-wingers is a decent case. I'll full on confess I know dick about this law, since I don't, but I'd figure that attempting to correct presidents purely by politics, having staffers happily admit to it, and refusing people to stay online (including House candidates) would meet the bar.

Well thanks for the information. To be honest, a lot of my knowledge regarding the 'Nation of Islam' is mostly based on what people have told me about the faith (and do feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on anything by the way) but either way regarding this I have a better time buying into Scientology than whatever bullshit the Nation of Islam believes in anyway.

This is dumb. Usually when I think of 'Fascist Architecture' or some other form of totalitarian architecture it's usually the big and scary looking buildings that are designed to intimidate you and make you feel small then.

So in this case, what they did here was only returned the garden back to its original 1962 design and the trees in question will be moved to other parts of the White House grounds anyway.

It's silly that they will also complain about plants at this point.

You forgot to mention that "dumbass" had been stopped because there was a warrant out for his arrest for breaking into a house, beating the shit out of 2 people, and raping a 14 year old girl.

BLM is rioting in rural america (82% white) because they're allowed to (Democratic Mayor, Democratic State Government), and because they want to send everyone a message: You are not allowed to arrest black people. You are not allowed to defend yourself. Not even rapists who are going to get a weapon to kill you with.

The amusing thing, in a gallows humor sort of way, is that they think this harms Trump.

I was not aware of that factoid. The BLM narrative on twitter (suspect as it always is) states that he had just got done defusing a fight between two people. Obviously, cops wouldn't be screaming at him if that was the case but I'd love to have something concrete. do you have a link?

Think you do, since the way section 230 is currently setup is just to shield the platforms from their users rather than the other way around. It's why they have to come up with these reforms about saying it's deceptive business practices for the platforms to not obey their own terms of service (by correcting candidates purely on the basis of politics and such). They're technically not making a statement themselves, but rather going through a roundabout way of essentially making a statement through selective moderation. So it's harder to get them on the basis of "being a publisher".

Going at them for "deceptive business practices" (or whatever their phrasing was) is probably a 100x easier to prove since they're so flagrant with the politicized nature of their moderation, making it something that'd be a fuck ton easier to prove in court.

They were moaning about the removal of the historic crab apple trees (which for some reason twitter keeps calling cherry trees) yet from looking at the report the white house put out about the garden they've already been replaced multiple times (pg.75). It's not even the same cultivar anymore.

They also mention later on in the report (pg.129) about, while the crab apple trees have been included since 1962, the current ones in place were not. Trees that still maintain their historical significance, mainly the commemorative trees, look to be preserved.

There's also mention later down (pg.131) about the garden falling into poor health due to the switch from a mixture of perennial and seasonal annual to almost exclusively annuals for their color. The constant changing out of annuals has apparently caused damaged the roots of the trees and shrubs, so they want to switch back to how it originally was.

There's a bunch more talked about in the actually report, like several pages on the history of the rose and what kinds were used over the years by the various Presidents. Despite what Kurt rudely put, much of the report is talking about the historical significance and designs that have been used over the years, a lot of care was being put into returning it to the Bunny Mellon 1962 design. Serious still don't understand why anyone gives him the time of day anymore after his numerous embarrassments.

If anyone's interested in reading through the report. I was just largely skimming through the thing so I might have missed something, interesting how much work went into it and I'm curious to see how it'll look when the flowers start blooming.
