Of course we will probably never know the truth, but the idea that Nathalie could be anything but neurotypical yet have a successful life with a boyfriend, a job, a passion (bodybuilding), and most likely friends and a good relationship with her mother, makes Chantal's failure at life even more fantastic that it actually is.
