There is no "before" the narrative. Once the narrative is set, all information before and after ceases to exist. There are still millions of exceptional individuals who believe Michael Brown had his hands up and was shot for no reason. The video doesn't matter, the evidence doesn't matter, the court findings don't matter. They don't exist. The only thing that exists is the narrative.
People who Listen And Believe do not have thoughts. I mean that quite literally. There is absolutely nothing going on behind those dead eyes, no matter how realistic they act. Way to shift the goalposts when you can be proven demonstrably wrong. Just how little do you know about body armor? It's 3.3lbs of poly compared to 3.8lbs of ceramic or ceramic/poly hybrid. A extra half pound is a bit more weight, but it actually stops the bullets you're likely to get shot with at NIJ ratings no less.

This body armor debate is very informative. Yeah that's the word. Informative.
If you're worried about incoming yeah sure body armor will help... but being aware of your surroundings and not making yourself an easy target for whoever you think is gonna be opening up on you will help more. Body armor is not a sci fi energy shield or magic invincibility aura. Shit happens, rounds get through, shit happens, your face and neck and legs and arms aren't covered by a vest. I dont know shit about body armor materials and all that but I do know soldiers get maimed and killed by bullets while wearing it all the time, although much less than in the past because yeah it does help.

Also, not all armor is made equal. I, for one, chose Level IV Certified ceramics. But that's just me.

I don't want to derail this thread too much but the key to defeating steel is velocity. It's hard pressed to stop rounds above 3,000 FPS and anything in the >3,200 tends to sail right through.
The only reason the vast majority of hunting rounds aren't AP is because they're designed to expand. Remington manufactured a lead free .270 that easily defeated Level III armor because of the velocity the round is capable of and the bullets construction.

steel plates sucks cos it does fuck all to stop shrap from ripping up your carrier or killing you. you can put pounds and pounds of rhinoliner but then its 40lbs a plate.
ive shot steel targets and shrap come back and cut up my face and legs. cant imagine having it on my chest
and ceramics are delicate, hairline cracks can form from rough use and then the plate is compromised.
the poly plates are great in that they can take more rounds to then but again they cant get wet or too hot.
and like all things, expect to get fucked up if your plate catches a round. brusing up and down your body and broken bones.

I have ceramics, but they stay in the closet. I'm only intending on getting out the battle rattle for if/when SHTF. I also have AR500 spares (I have since learned of their spalling problems, but I was young and naive last year).

Just a Wisconsin Moment. You may remember Khari Sanford. About a month before George Floyd, he gunned down 2 white SJW college professors in a roadside ditch, leading to exactly zero riots and no social unrest.
He's notable in part because his victims had been paying for him to live with their daughter at an Airbnb. He also had memorable quotes on his Facebook page like this:
“we gon change this world, cause it’s time to let our diversity and youth shine over all oppressive systems and rebuild our democracy
??.”Anyhoo, despite the community's indifference over losing a few of it's own to this fine social justice activist, law enforcement finally got around to sending him to trial.
A few things:
- He's being charged with first degree homicide. Only took them 5 months to bring charges, but okay.
- His has a good attorney who's charged other clients $400 an hour. But his family is poor, someone's funding his defense.
- In that article, his lawyer is quoted as saying the state presented no physical evidence tying him to the crime.
Have a strange feeling this kid is about to walk.
