The Army is so fucking big for a reason. The Marines can be smaller, they're bullet sponges and assault forces. The Air Force is gay. And the Navy is a glorified Uber.
The Army has to be so fucking big because they have to OCCUPY the area. IIRC the correct amount of troops to garrison (if lethal force and martial law is used) some place the size of Kenosha would be a reinforced Battalion or a Brigade. (Cold War Numbers, no GWOT micro-military faggoty numbers) You'd want roughly a 1,000 guys ON THE STREET, two FOB's, a medivac, a motorpool, two refueling points, two ATP (ammunition), and a Battalion Aid station. You'd want people dug in at hospitals, power facilities, water facilities, sewage treatment plants. Then roving patrols on the street empowered to ENFORCE the fucking curfew with ass kickings then dragged off to a holding area where they wear sweats with an orange stripe down the back with a 72 hour hold on them.

Add in the whole faggoty shit of having the officers have everyone's bolt carriers in their fag bag, or the CO having them all in a box or the armorer holding them and the ammunition still in the boxes (to make it easier to turn in...), no flashbangs, no CS, no HC smoke.
