Well we're not really Bible thumping here (at least I hope that people here aren't) and I already detest religious fundamentalists in general on the count that most of them are nothing but frauds, scam artists, and hypocrites that don't practice what they preach anyway.

Now whenever I encounter people that try to tell others how to live while they hold a Bible in one hand (or some other holy book) they usually turn out that they're selfish, hate filled, and judgemental jackasses that usually want money and power (there's shitheads such as Kenneth Copeland, Jim Bakker, and if you're paying attention to the news recently we also see that Jerry Falwell, Jr are perfect examples of this).

So with that said, the problem here isn't that the Democratic Party advocates for the separation of church and state (which I do support), the problem is that the only reason why the Democratic Party is doing this now is because they let a bunch of unironic communists take over their party now.

If you've noticed, the Democratic Party in recent decades formally adopted center-left values but when Barack Obama was elected as the 'U.S. President' then the party later on leaned more and more towards the left that the only thing missing now if for them to fully adopt communism then.

Now while I still support the separation of church and state (which is a good thing) it's clear to me that the Democratic Party has gone off the deep end.

So at this point, we can pretty much safely conclude that the Democrats have a sinister motive going here anyway.

Kathy Griffin hit rock bottom with the religious zeal of a suicide bomber. Most people in her position would try to recover and rebuild their career and reputation, or at least quietly retire and avoid attention for the rest of their life. Kathy, on the other hand, seems like she's destroying her entire life to spite Trump.

The only difference between the moral wings of the parties are what they hold in their right hand as they beat you with their left for your "poor morals"

One side has a Bible, the other side holds the Communist Manifesto.

Other than that, they don't give a flying-you-know-what about whatever their almighty tomes say, they've never even read them, but they do know it gives them the apparent authority to beat you... and that's enough.

I got into an argument with a Fedora'd Discord Academic the other week who claimed the "Religious Right" was "one the rise globally". His "evidence" for this was Trump, Orban, Bolsonaro, Modi and Duterte all (supposedly) doing anti-LGBTQ++ shit.
I tried to explain that all those guys were elected because of their anti-globalism, not any religious stance but he wasn't hearing it.

It made me realize the Religious Right and Woke Left both completely misunderstand or disregard Mazlow's Hierarchy of needs.

@FunPosting101 was talking about how the Dems taking "God" out of the pledge was done for completely disingenuous reasons that they will forego at a moment's notice, not merely "selectively deciding you want something based on who does it or why they chose to do it". It isn't "Democrat behavior" to do this, but rather a sign of basic pattern recognition.

They react like that to pretty much anyone who doesn't despise Trump with the fury of a million suns, but I also think this is in part about her embarrassing them yet again. They've alternately tried to use her or destroy her ever since Trump was elected, either displaying mock sympathy that Trump must be abusing her or trying to shit on her at every turn for daring to not play into their narrative about it, and she's both consistently given no fucks and mocked them back. Just like he does.

There was probably some secret hope among them that she'd offer them wiggle room to say she was sending secret messages about what an awful person he is and that she needs help. An unambiguously positive speech leaves them nothing to work with so they're pissed off that yet again she hasn't given them anything to work with.
