Me and some friends were lamenting on a stream the other night that the 90's basically had racism beat. If fucking thug culture hadn't taken such root in the late 90's, if IdPol hadn't have driven in wedges, if the Magical Negro in the White House hadn't stoked the fires again, it was pretty much beat.

You disliked motherfuckers who were they were, not race, not nationality, not religion, not whether or not they liked sucking a pole or licking a hole.

But the need to feel like victims had the Left twist the definitions of everything and now racism is back.

It's fucked up that it went from telling your racist grandpa "Gramps, give the darkies thing a rest, OK? I like spending time with you." and now going "Gramps was right."

Drive through small town America, as I did several weeks ago. I've never seen so many Trump 2020 posters and signs proudly displayed.
Even better: I was stopped in a small town in Nevada to pick up snacks. Saw a flyer on the ground in the parking lot, warning residents about a BLM rally being staged in their town. It basically said, "We don't need out of towners telling US how to live". Made me very happy. :)

My dad saw a clip of the video somewhere of the kid shooting the first guy. As far as I've seen he had a molotov cocktail or some other thing lobbed at him so it seemed like self defense. My dad kept insisting it was some "baggie" and it's totally okay to throw stuff at people but self defense? Criminal act. I feel like both sides weren't doing their best in the situation, but it really seems like the protesters started it and yet people act like the kid just traveled over state lines deliberately to shoot people. Maybe he did and I just haven't seen the evidence.

When I finally finish moving out I'd love to learn how to use a gun for real instead of just in vidya games. I know I am woefully behind in that regard. But he is the kind of person who believes government should take away ALL civilian guns and no one needs one. Psh. I brought up self defense but he brought up some bullshit thing of "well road rage is big in our city, it's on the news all the time about an angry driver shooting someone". Um, what. Show me the stats that it occurs enough to be a legit issue. And even then there ARE shitty people with guns. Who knew? How about learning to use one myself so I can protect myself and others from those people if the worst ever comes?

It was a plastic bag, apparently, but anecdotal reports are that he chased Kyle (who is very obviously trying to retreat if you watch the video) into a rather boxed in car park and Kyle turned and shot because that dude was about to beat his ass.

I've seen what protesters can do when they just use fists and kicks so I can definitely see being reasonable scared for your life. Maybe it sounds like victim blaming but what do you expect when you try to beat up someone with a gun? For him to not use it?

He chose to chase Kyle down, throw shit at him, and try to beat him up; it's not victim blaming. Don't try to attack other people, it's not fucking complicated.

This bitch thinks she wants war when the [deserved] deaths of two people she doesn't even fucking know have reduced her to hysterics. This isn't war. That wasn't even a god damn battle. I'd be hard-pressed to even say it was a skirmish. This deranged creature would buckle and be reduced to a sobbing heap by what an actual fucking war looks like.

I know, from the same group. We grew up with so many shows that started black families, making them seem normal and really charming in so many of the sitcoms. We didn't hate people because of their skin color, we had kalediscopes of people making an endearingly lame superhero. I believed in it. Now, I keep trying to tell myself mathematically going by arrests, most of them still might be okay, but that doesn't account for how many believe a bunch of racist garbage and would kill me if they ever got the chance. Still, I try to remember the normal ones I've known or seen on Youtube. That's why I'd be willing to wall off a state and send all the crazy ones there to start Wakanda, while the ones who just want to live normal, stable lives can stay.
