Social Justice Warriors - Now With Less Feminism Sperging

I wonder if there is a similar comic about "Speedy Gonzales cases", i. e. where there is a thing created with cultural stereotypes, but it gets embraced and loved by whomever it was stereotyping...but people still cry muh racism.

Thought of this cause I just looked at the chinese wikipedia page for Fu Manchu, and someone in there legit likes the guy.
Actually saw this happen IRL with some friends saying Guacamelee! was racist. It was made by a bunch of Mexican lucha-libre fans dudes.
No! Bad Mexicans! Stop enjoying unapproved representation! Get back here!

Worse yet! Some of these Mexicans have the gall to explain to Cracker McWhitey here what the cultural context for those works is. Some of these heretics are actually happy to share their culture with other people.

Seriously, though: if you're not Latino and you ever get invited to a Dia de Los Muertos celebration, don't think twice and just go. Observe, ask questions and generally try to be respectful. It's some really interesting stuff. Back when I was dating this Latina girl I was invited to her family's celebration. Great food, very cool decorations and outfits (the women in her family liked doing the traditional makeup), and holy shit her grandmother sounded like she had memorized the ancestry of half the population of Mexico. No joke, she could recall the names and the relations in their family tree back six or eight generations. Sure, I spent all day (and a good chunk of the night) sticking out like a sore thumb, but it was a really fun time and I walked away hoarse from just chatting with people.

It's not even that shit like this doesn't "win anyone over". I have friends and family of all colors and ethnicities and I love them dearly. I don't think I'm racist, but when I hear shit like this I just think, if that is enough to make me racist... I don't fucking care. I don't care if you think that makes me racist because apparently that word just doesn't mean anything. You're just diluting it to the point of nothingness, and even white people who otherwise would care will just tune you out like the *pun intended* white noise you are and we're all back to square one.

Anyone who wouldn't for some moronic SJW reason is even worse and more racist than an open racist.
For all we know, SJWs are as ignorant about other cultures as they are ignorant about the human nature. I still remember when people though that Mariachis were a racist stereotype when Mariachi bands and music are a big thing in Mexico. It's like saying that Scottish bagpipers are a racist stereotype against scots. The same applies to all their traditions like the day of Mexican independence or Día de los muertos, but you can bet these people don't know anything beyond 5 de Mayo.

Hell, even SNK pays more homage and respects to mexican aesthetic and traditions than the average american leftist.

This is the thing SJWs seem unable or unwilling to understand; People love when foreigners show an interest in their culture. They love it because they love sharing. They love sharing it because it makes them happy and they want other people to be happy. That's why Mexicans love it when foreigners show up at a Dia de los Muertos celebration or a lucha libre match. That's why the Japanese love it when foreigners walk around in kimonos. That's why Texans love it when foreigners show up for rattlesnake roundups. Those things are part of their cultures because it brings them joy and they want to share that joy with other people.

The idea of someone being so broken that they see that as an act of bigotry or racism just boggles the mind.

For them it's more about "X minority being able to keep their traditions", but they must do it in a way that is palatable, easily digested and marketable enough for the woke crowd to get it without too much effort. How are they supposed to know that Día de los muertos is a big deal? How can they know that Mariachis or Lucha Libre are a big component of Mexico's popular culture? It's not that they are insensitive and uncultured idiots, it's just that they didn't got to see it enough in their favourite shows. You have to think about the poor SJWs.

btw, this reminds me about when they cancelled Speedy Gonzalez for being a racist stereotype.

I thought "white guilt" was bad because being ashamed of one's whiteness is "centering oneself and one's white experience instead of uplifting black voices when they speak out against oppression" (god I hate wokespeak.) That's what I had been seeing in sj circlejerks for the longest time. Now it's good to feel shame I guess. There's no winning with these people *sigh*

I do find the “lol payback” gif posted in the thread obnoxious.
These people are beyond petty.

why do they keep trying to appease these people when they just spew venom at them.

Honestly, I think this is less of a case of appeasing the Woke Left and more of a case of "Cover Your Own Ass" given the Yuri Bezmenov teaser and the overall anti-communist mindset that the new CoD is going to have. With cancel culture at a fever pitch, Activision is likely hedging their bets and doing the "non-binary" option to woke-proof the game for when the inevitable brigading from ResetEra, r/GamerGhazi, and Woke Twitter begins.

Mexicans and Central Americans fucking love Speedy. Anybody who uses the term “cultural appropriation” is signaling that they know next to nothing about the cultures they’re talking about.

Trickster characters like Speedy are very popular in both indigenous and European cultures. Anyone who thinks a character like that is somehow a racist insult is a culturally illiterate idiot who should STFU and never dare talk about "cultural appropriation" or any kind of culture, for that matter, until they sit down and fucking learn something.

Trickster archetypes being popular seem to be one of those things that make SJWs very uncomfortable, because they're 100% cross-culture and every culture has at least one smart underdog who wins by their wits against characters stronger than they are. Maybe SJWs hate it because it shows you can still succeed if you're smart and adaptable, even if you're weaker than your opponent.

They never actually canceled him. Cartoon Network had an unofficial ban on Speedy cartoons because they thought Mexicans would be offended, but when it turned out they generally weren't, they were put back on the air. He's been in other new Looney Tunes stuff since.
