A friend pointed out that they aren't tooled for National Defense any longer and don't do "Rapid Ready Training" any longer.Wasn't a Nasty Girl but I imagine....
8-10 to cut the orders; find the OPLAN in some folder no one has opened in years; let 2 and 3 shops make all their products; brief commanders, staff, and any state, local, or tribal stakeholders
1-2 hours to go down the roster and call everyone
1-2 hours for everyone to get to the armory
2-3 hours to get out TA-50, sign out vehicles and weapons, etc
Then however long it takes to drive from the armory to their objective.
He reminded me pretty simply: "Look, Gramps, go back to your rocking chair. Shit's changed."
He also reminded me that there's a mandatory 4-8 hours of officers and SNCO's preparing powerpoint slides now.
