Damn imagine getting your ingrown short-hairs in a tangle over a child trying naively to help you out. I have young family members who sometimes like to show me how to do things I already know how to do in vidya. I entertain them and let them show me because it allows them to demonstrate how well they are when it comes to conveying instructions and it makes them feel appreciated. It's not so they can dunk on you.

Feeling the need to bristle at a child. What a big dumb asshole.

Not surprising. What I will say is that it cannot be disproven that all weebs are trannies.

We finished the chicken coop up today

This will get them through the colorado winters

didnt they get like 50 chicks

I literally can't get over this tiny ass chicken coop. First of all, the comment about getting them through the winter, I thought that was you being sarcastic but no the fuckin tard himself typed that out honestly believing it.

I'm just :stress:
and I don't even know shit about raising chickens?? Not even mentioning how small it is for 50 chickens that grow fast, my first thought is I know is my bird starts sneezing and shivering if the room temp goes slightly below normal. So how the fuck is one single thin sheet of wood on each side going to insulate the box and keep them warm all winter? Surely, that isn't enough?

Someone with more chicken knowledge wanna chime in? Cause for the poor bird's sake I honestly hope I'm wrong.

Paging @Angel Baby Firefly for chicken lore.

My grandparents used to keep chicken until they got too old for the hassle.
The coop was about 16-20 square meters large, half open, half occupied by an adobe shed with upper arm-thick walls and a thick sheet metal door, for 20 or so chicken.

So yeah, this is dangerously negligent, borderline willful animal cruelty.

They built this for somebody else. If you find the in progress pictures you can see that they used their typical load bearing horizontal nail style construction for the structure.

Baby chicks need warmth so they usually need to grow out in a brooder. I string heat lamps above the enclosure so they have places to gather for warmth. Adult chickens will huddle together at night for warmth. If the coop is too small for fifty chicken, you need to make it bigger and attach a run if it doesn't have one. The best thing would be to free range them when they're old enough, if you're able. When they're old enough to have grown in most of their feathers, they're usually ready to go outside and live in the coop. I'd suggest setting them up in your garage or something in a setup like this:

You can make something like this out of cardboard boxes or smaller totes too and divide them up into groups. But they DEFINITELY need the heat lamps. They have no feathers to keep them warm; their baby down will not keep them insulated. Also notice the waterers (the plastic jug with the red bottom) and feeders (the red bottles with the slots at the bottom), these are made especially for chickens and I highly recommend you get them. They are designed to keep bedding and shit (yes chicken shit) from contaminating the water and food. Chickens are filthy and will kick bedding everywhere. You'll want to change the water once a day at least, same with food.

The minimum rule of thumb is about 2 to 3 square feet per chicken inside the chicken coop, and 8 to 10 square feet per chicken in an outside run. More square footage is better. Skimping on space requirements for a flock of chickens can cause stress, cannibalism, pecking, and sometimes even death. And if your goal is to get eggs, they will also eat the eggs if they don't have enough room. If the chickens start eating eggs, cull them as they will not stop. That's all I can think of for now and should help get you started.

I typed this out pretty quickly and if I missed anything you have questions about, just ask. :3 🚬

btw, a coop for 50+ chickens needs to be large. That's considered a large flock. I only have a small backyard coop with a half dozen hens.

Also have a plan to do something with the roosters, idk if your chicks were already sexed or not, but too many roosters in too small an enclosure is no bueno.

I'm sorry, I'm an idiot, but I don't know what this means lol

Edit: Thank you @Angel Baby Firefly
For all the info! So basically they need a ton of space and to work hard for the babies.. so, let's hope Penny is capable of that on top of all the other animals cause we know Kevin won't be any help (as usual)

Instead of having the 2x4s themselves holding up something by being under it, they have them along side of it and drive two nails into them. So the only thing holding it all up is two nails nailed in sideways. Look at the sink picture and you can see. This structure would not be stable and would sway side to side and in the process would loosen the nails that hold it all up.

This really makes me wonder about them working with the alleged amish carpenter. A basic "St. Andrew's Cross" or saltire brace isn't rocket science and even a novice could recreate it after seeing it once or twice and understanding the basic principle. That sink frame is something a total layman would build. It's below high school crafts class level.
