Show her some of the insanity that happened on the nights before the armed militias showed up. Law enforcement had zero control of the situation and people's livelihoods were ruined. Point out that businesses won't want to open up new shops in areas with heavy vandalism and this creates problems like food deserts. Rich people can move out of cities that get btfo, but the poor who are stuck there are screwed. In most cities that means the blacks. Maybe show her something about food deserts.

Property is an extension of people and the destruction of it directly affects people's lives. It's like cutting off someone's hand just to make a point. It doesn't kill them, but it's still shitty and shouldn't be endorsed. You don't cut off people's hands to say fuck the police. Don't want to get shot? Don't burn down buildings.
I wish I was eloquent enough to explain this to her, but neither of us are very good at holding civil debates. She gets upset, and I just slink off.

Disclaimer: I love my mom, I really do. She's gotten me through a lot of hard times. She's just...very, very mainstream-left.

" He argues that when Rittenhouse finished his shift as a lifeguard in Kenosha last Tuesday, he decided he wanted to help clean up damage in Kenosha left amid unrest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake. "

Proof he worked in Kenosha!

" They argue that Rittenhouse soon became concerned about protesters injured in clashes with police, and went to provide first aid at a gas station. As he was returning to the mechanics shop after providing aid, he found that police formations had blocked his way, so he returned to the station."

Oof, poor dude.

Why are they complaining, they have insurance!

Why not complain? They had the right to have their livelihoods unmolested. Insurance may not cover all expenses related to cleanup and rebuilding. And you have to have income in the meantime. Small business owners are rarely rich. They work for a living. The "rioters"...not so much.

A line, paraphrased, from "Red Dawn" (1984) comes to mind - "Every time they burn something down or attack someone, the opposition to them grows."

Watching the continued destruction tells me the rioters have given up on getting any support for their positions whatsoever from mainstream America. If anything, this provides a lot of support to those they oppose. It wasn't Trump supporters who have committed looting and burning. Not Trump supporters who savagely beat a 70-year-old man when he tried to put out the fire started at his business. The mainstream media has also forgotten this. They've painted Kyle's attackers as choir boys, but the Internet shows them for what they are/were - thugs.

At the rate things are going, can easily see much more action by armed citizens/militias. And like Kyle, they will have a tremendous amount of support from mainstream America.

A humble suggestion - no need going around to other boards and getting into a pissing contest with idiots. Can't win. Gather information and post it here. Share with friends. Advise being careful what you put on social media. A good part of Kyle's defense will come from what these fucks posted on social media. Guess they believe it goes away. Nope. I don't use social media and advise you not to. Don't believe it's all that social, anyway.

"are we valuing property over people now".
I am beyond sick of this rhetoric and the line of thinking behind it. As if it's some pavlovian conditioning that every time some jogger dies in the right circumstances peaceful fiery protesters just have to go out and burn completely unrelated people's property to the ground. If these rioters really do have no agency and complete disregard for the livelihoods of other people then why should their lives be viewed as more valuable than property? All of this is irrelevant anyway since these dumbasses are once again failing to understand that these rioters aren't getting summary judgements for their behavior, they're being shot and killed because they attacked someone unprovoked.

My mom and I have been talking about the Kyle thing and she seems to be firmly on the side of "he only came to shoot people and get notoriety" and "are we valuing property over people now". Yes, he had a weapon illegally, but if anything, I'd say he was there out of frustration of his own at knowing the police weren't going to do shit when the protests inevitably turned into riots. He brought a weapon because of fucking course you would if you're getting near an angry mob.

I'm just so tired and frustrated man. I don't even want to talk about it at all, but she seems to be constantly tuned in to CNN and it inevitably comes up, then she looks at me funny when I say I've just run out of energy to care about happenings anymore.

Sorry, I needed to bitch.
I think I'm lucky considering my whole extended family thinks commies need to be given a one way helicopter ride.

It is my old buddies from school that have gone down the TDS ACAB BLM shit. One recently said that I was a fascist nazi for not wanting to protest Trump. They all have gone in so far on orange man bad that they seem to have replaced all other character traits they once had. Safe to say I've gone out of my way to avoid them at all costs now because I do not want to listen to their spergfest.

Don't worry about it, Women are naturally skewed towards following the mainstream, and if everyone in her circle is talking about the same things, they tend to go with the group. Its why they are such effective targets for marketing, they tend to to try new products when advertised to, then go online and recommend those products in their friends circle, sometimes taking a snap of themselves wearing/using it. Women are the dominant market. It's why you so often see in the news "appeals to emotion" because thats one of the prime vectors to market to Women. Marketers are very manipulative that way.

Just remind her that in each case in which he shot someone, he was running away and the person was chasing him, closed to hand-to-hand fighting distance, and attempted to attack him. Do his motives even matter at that point?

or don't unless she brings it up. My family is the same way, and generally I think it's best to just not engage with people like that unless they insist on talking about it in front of you.

Wow, you guys really seem to roll with gullible NPCs. I'm glad I got off social media and stopped talking to everyone but my immediate family, coworkers, and church friends, most of whom more or less share my worldview.

More blacks behaving badly, taking advantage of the chaos. This time in the Big Apple.

The lower east side of Manhattan. No one is safe in a @NYCMayor run city

New York under De Blasio...

But never mind all that, did anyone else see this little performance by Kamala Harris?

She is all but condoning and rooting for the rioting, and for it to keep on happening even after the election!

She is all moist in the gusset. Her face visibly lights up and starts beaming when asked about the riots.

I quote: "THEY ARE NOT GOING TO LET UP AND THEY SHOULD NOT!"

Let that sink in!

They are not going to let up. And they should not.

How the fuck can someone like her be let anywhere near a position of responsibility in government? She's an out and out fucking commie!

Fucking hell. If you only knew how bad things really are!

I don't think the rioting was planned as some grand conspiracy, but once it started everyone reached in to drag the narrative in their direction, and the left has absolutely been encouraging it to continue and I'm certain they were praying for Trump to roll in and mow down the crowds so they could cry tyrant.

Sometimes, being really shrewd and being really dumb look identical.

The rioting hasn't been the same for 90 days, there were distinctive waves. The first was the looting and genuine anger after the Floyd video, that crested with the Minneapolis 3rd precinct burning, and started to die down after a few days. Then came the protests, because it took the video a few days to reach all the normies, who suddenly felt they had to do something. Then came the organized protests.

This was not a BLM movement for the first week. They had a resurgence and it metastasized after that, because they were the only ones willing to keep going long after the normies vented and went back to work. Antifa was sprinkled throughout and co-opted the BLM protests quickly. CHAZ and Trump's St John's church photo-op sapped the energy out of all but the most die-hard progressive cities, which is where these things have dragged on.

None of this requires sneaky conspiracies or NGOs.

I do think the Democratic party saw the riots happening, and chose a strategy of "let it play out". They spent years doubling down on wokeness, they couldn't be seen as crushing a 100% woke movement. But they could hope that Trump would do it, with the bonus that he looks like a dictator if he did. Plus, this saps the progressive energy from opposing the old white liberal candidate they were propping up. "Milwaukee will burn" was a real threat, best to let them burn out before they carry it out.

The miscalculation was that Trump didn't take the bait... and the energy didn't burn out. Now they don't have their dictator boogeyman, and they don't have their stronghold cities back under control.

I mean, I've got a vagina too, so I'm pretty sure she doesn't hold these views solely because of her sex, because then so would I. But I'm also screeching-autistic levels of resistant to anything I see as being even vaguely manipulative, so maybe that's why I always seem to be devil's advocate.

If all they did was smash up some cop cars and go home whenever they rioted I don't think all that many people would care. I don't quite understand what burning down a black man's game shop and stealing a bunch of Xbox controllers has to do with avenging the murder of a black man, though.

Also the murder would be of the persons causing the damage not random murder while the property damage is almost always random and targets uninvolved individuals.

I mean you're autistic enough to be on Kiwi Farms. Not exactly the typical person let alone woman
It's definitely a social thing among urban and suburban middle-aged upper middle class white women
